I'm goin to have the head off my truck putting in studs and was thinking about putting some new sticks in while I was there. Was wondering what everbody liked maybe even a recomendation. I'm goin to be upgrading my TST to the newest one with all the programs in it other than that the rest is in my signiture. I don't have an upgraded CP3 pump, nor do I really want one. (don't want to spend anymore money right now) I drive the truck every day, tow with it a good bit, heavy when I do. I was also wondering how big of injectors to go with if any at all. I don't want anything thats going to have my fuel rail drained all the time with out upgrading the pump.

I've had good results, great prices, and even better customer service with Dynomite Diesel. No, I'm not affiliated with them in any way. Lenny and Ross are always willing to help me out, no matter how crazy the questions sound. .

F1 seems to be pretty popular. Are you getting the whole injector or just nozzles? Wheres the best place to get them?

You have to send in your injector and Don replaces the nozzles with his own. And you have to use one of his distributors, I went thru Tim Barber, he was great to deal with. It did take almost two weeks to turn around but I was in mo big hurry.

Yeah, thats the deal about using Don's distributors. Get the right guy, and it takes no time at all, get the wrong guy, and you could be waiting 3 or 4 weeks for your new injectors. Formula One will rebuild your injectors as well as replacing the tips... for extra money of course. But all in all, not a bad option to go with the complete rebuild and the new nozzles if you want the ultimate set up.

i had no wait at all for my Idustrial Injection injectors. they sent me all new injectors and a pick up tag to send mine back. took less than a week. i have had them for about two years problem free.

Industrial Injection is the only injector I will run in my truck. I've ran John Link injectors & Bullydog which don't even compare to the smoothness of II. I have run Brady's 3 flows, 4 flows, Dragon Flow 10 holes & all have had smooth power & smooth idle with no smoke at idle. I am running the 4 flows right now in my 99 & they don't smoke at all with my box off & smarty on stock..... great injectors! When I turn my box on kill it gets dark quick. I think you would be great with a set of 3 flows [100hp] from II.

Remember he has a 3rd gen truck which is a 04. 5+ which means he's got the 3rd shot on the rail. Keeping that in mind, he also has a stock CP3 and has no current plans on upgrading. I think 3 flows may be a bit much. However, I have also heard great things about I. I. injectors. I think you would be well suited by choosing either.

my 3 flows have worked great with my stock cp3 for two years. i sometimes run with my box off and it still runs good. i did notice a gain in mpg with the injectors. they also smoothed the truck out very well.

3 flows are what is recommended by II on a stock CP3 truck. 80-100hp injectors will be fine on that truck... . if he addressed the fuel system so the rail won't run dry of course.

i did alot of research on injectors and i cant find the website but it had a really good write up on the formula one nozzles. Basiclly it said that all the other nozzles are at the bosch's Quality control level since they get there tips from there and hone them are whatever they do, But F1's uses a blank tip and has there own Quality Assurance which is alil stricter than bosch.

Also they are tested at 39000 psi. When i do nozzles its for sure gonna be F1

That may be, but according to Formula One, their Flux 2 injectors or 100 HP injectors are geared for a modded CP3. So take it for what it's worth.

"100 HP increase over stock. The F2 is geared toward the modded CP3 pumps that produce a higher volume and pressure than the stock CP3 from Cummins. " www.formulaonediesel.com-

the way i see it is, not everyone who wants injectors, wants to buy a modded pump to support there injectors. i would say i got every bit of the 80HP claimed by II out of my injectors with my stock cp3. 555hp/1016tq mods in sig minus the sps66, and the OFE they were not on when i dynoed.

Here are my observations - A couple of weeks ago, I pulled out the 100 hp injectors I was running, and went back to stock.

A. My rail pressure increased, back to normal levels.

B. My EGt's went down 50-100*

C. I think my fuel mileage is back above 18, but I haven't put enough miles on it to check it, yet.

D. I noticed virtually no decrease in SOTP performance. My 66 spools just like it did with the big injectors, with my smarty on level 3.

E. Smoke is down.

The combination of the 100hp injectors AND the big turbo, only gave me about 80hp over stock according to the dyno.

I will be putting the truck back on the dyno to retune it, and get some numbers, but I would be willing to bet, I didn't lose much, if anything.

My personal opinion - If you are going to do injectors, you should also do the modded CP3.
