should I go with the 275 hp injectors by bosch, or does the forum recommend something better?

What's better? Depends on your usage. The Bosch injectors are relatively inexpensive, give a solid gain of 33-50 hp depending on your engine configuration, and reportedly also give 1-1. 5 mpg better. If you want the most power, Diesel Dynamics Stage 3 injectors have given over 100 hp gains to a number of Rammers, according to their reports. I have seen HVAC run on the dyno and his claim of 110 hp (if I recall correctly) for the DD3s is very credible. Some have reported they smoke more than the Bosch injectors but if you are chasing power, you do what you gotta do. And, with a diesel, driving style affects the smoke quite a bit. For comparison, 12 valves can smoke a lot even with big Bosch injectors if the AFC is adjusted "loose" and the right foot is heavy.

You have to decide what your use will be and what compromises and adjustments to driving style you want to make. There is no "best" choice. That's why different folks on this board run power levels all the way from stock to over 500 hp at the wheels.

Just be sure you pick good quality parts. I don't feel that injectors is a good place to try to save a dollar by going with the X-mart philosophy that "parts is parts" and all brands/suppliers are the same. Choose your supplier wisely to get good advice and the correct parts. Many parts are referred to generically here on the board with labels like 275s or 370s. Some vendors don't know better and unwittingly sell stuff that is not the best choice. The good reputations of such parts are based on the use of the correct ones, not someone else's reverse engineered guesstimate. Also, a good vendor can help you make up your mind and get the best stuff for your application. For another example, the extrude honing process is touchy and I have heard of problems with injectors that were so "treated" without adequate quality control or operator skill. If you choose such injectors, make sure your vendor of such a modification has a solid reputation and really knows how to do it well.
Hope this helps.
Joe
