What's in the Ark of the Covenant?

Which is worse?

Nazi's killed an estimated 6 million.

Communism killed an *admitted* 20,000,000 innocents just during WW2 alone. The Russians have admitted to the validity of the number (20 Million) killed by Stalin. We have spent 45 years fighting Communism, bankrupted our Country ( we are paying *interest* on the money borrowed to fight the Viet Nam War).

What do you think the last 45 years would have been like if Hitler had won?

I've just wondered how different things would be now.

As Bob Dylan said

"Now we all agree with Hitlers' views,

Although he killed six million Jews.

It don't matter too much that he was a Fascist,

At least you can't say he was a Communist!

That's to say like if you got a cold you take a shot of malaria. "

Thats tough if you have to pick one. I would have to go with the Nazi's. Only becuse i have seen and heard more about it. The Holocaust was something that you heard about all the time in school, movies, etc. So i understand it more. But anytime people (Civillians) are killed by the masses because of what they are or what they believe, its not a good thing.

It isnt the communism or Nazism. It is the people that were in charge when they were setup. I would have to say Communism because it has affected a much larger area of the world, and allows the ignorant, uneducated, and deranged to rise to power. It also has few checks and balances. Almost anythingcan be done for the good of the people.

Communism...

I don't think that a valid comparison can be made. Communism is more or less a financial system, in the same way that Capitalism (what we practice) is. Where as the Nazi party was a political system (primarily).

All tolled, more people may have died under a Communist gov't, than during the reign of the Nazi party. BUT, don't let "communism" itself be the scape goat. The gov't of the USSR engaged in a lot of extra oppressive activity beyond the realm of defined "Communism". Communism and socialism are reasonable ideas when on paper, but cannot work in a real life scenario. Most of the killing and such that happened under communist govt's was due to the fact that it was failing miserably and the powers that were wanted to do anything to preserve it. In most cases that meant snuffing anyone who pointed out that "Umm. , this sucks"

Don't get me wrong, I'm no Communist nor do I support their beliefs. I just don't want to see people get the wrong idea about a system they know relatively little about.

There is nothing inherently "EVIL" about communism, it's essentially an economic system where everyone has the same amount of stuff, and everyone works to help everyone else out. It doesn't work very well in real life, due to simple human nature, but our government has used the word Communism to describe the way that certain governments have controlled their people. Whenyou allow a central agency (a government) to control and distribute wealth among millions of people, it opens itself up to corruption and greed, to where it's then not truly communistic. So you get a few wackos controlling millions of people and all the money and resources, and you get what our government claims to be "Evil Communism. " Our government needed some propoganda to help the public understand why we needed to fight the dictators, so they used the word communism. Probably a wrong choice of words, but it worked, everyone thinks that Communists are evil and kill people, when actually by definition they just share all their stuff.

Communism isn't evil, it's the people who run it.....

In a simple sense, communism would be the economic system you would put in place if say a ship was wrecked on a desert island. Everyone would agree to share all the food and all the resources they could find. And everyone would be happy for a while. Then you would find out that Bob is hoarding the coconuts, and Shirley snuck away with an extra fish. These are results of human nature, we naturally want more than what we have. So then there is distrust in the system, and everyone starts hoarding a little of this, and a little of that. See how this is going? The original idea is grand, but it won't ever work.

My vote is for Nazism as being the worst. That's a system that's set up to kill people, communism is a system that's set up to share stuff.

Hnmmm. Would I rather be shot several times? Or stabbed multiple times?

There's no question. They both reside at the bottom of the dung heap. And if we, the people, aren't diligent, we could find ourselves trying to live under a communo-fascist government, if we aren't already.

Communism is too easy to corrupt, where Nazism is corrupt from the start, so I'd say that Communism is better than Nazism. I wouldn't take either one though.

OK, we all seem to agree on this: Neither one is our primary choice. As fest3er pointed out we are heading down the path to something bad .

Now how about this:

If Hitler won and the Russians were defeated what would the world be like?

Scenario 1:

All of Western and Eastern Europe was greater Germany, England would be an American Colony (!), Japan was defeated even though it was part of the Axis. I don't think Hitler cared much about the Japanese anyway.

Would we have used nuclear weapons to drive the Nazis out?

Would Hitler have used Nuclear weapons as a deterant to us?

What would the Itialians be doing now?

Why am I asking all these questions?

Sounds like questions I would be asking. Life might be different, but it would be the only life we know, so we probably would deal with it in some way.
