Hi everyone,

I am getting ready to change the fluids in my transmission, transfer case, and differentials. I am wanting to use Amsoil products. How do I determine which differentials I have? I have a 2003 3/4 ton, 4X4, 4. 10's, manual trans, stock. When using amsoil, do I need to add the limited slip additive to the differentials? I am assuming that I can use the syncromesh lube for the transmission, and the synthetic transmission fluid for the transfer case, and 75W-90 for the differentials? Thanks for your help.

For fluid capacities I always use the 2, 3, 4, 5 method.

2 quarts transfer case

3 quarts front differential

4 quarts rear differential

5 quarts NV5600 manual trans

No slip lock additive needed normally. Every once in a great while it may be needed, but generally no. I have yet to see or hear of a truck that did with the Severe Gear oil.

As for capacities and such, check here.

You are right on the money as to which oils to use.

Hope this helps and good luck!
