He should read past postings as this has been thoroughly discussed. In the end, turbo I can personally tell you max care saved me over 10k on a eco diesel failure 1500 miles from home. They paid for food, lodging, towing and no question asked for a part that took 5 weeks to deliver. The very rare technician gave us priority because of the plan. When it's towed into the dealer you are in the system. Sorta like family. Your plan??? Hey if you don't leave far from home then maybe it's the best decision. For me, I'm nation wide so your decision is not a good one.

Best of luck sir.

How much was your towing bill and what did they pay?

I had a MaxCare that was transferred from my FIL. Had $200 deductible. Had to have rear main seal and counter shaft seat and oil pan gasket done. That's one job there was no way that I could've tackled or would have wanted too! He only paid $2800 in 2016 on the plan and cost me $50 to transfer. Best $250 that I've spent in quite awhile! He had several this address when he had truck. Never an issue with staying with manufacture warranty! Aftermarket warranties will nickel and dime you along with delays and lack of coverage! Get refund and purchase a MaxCare online! To many what if's on these trucks today. What if you lost the center console display? I'm sure the aftermarket won't touch it. That's about $2000 +! JM2C on warranties.

wholly carp.... That's two and a half times what I paid for my 8/125 maxcare.... I opted for a higher deductible, but I think the 0 deductible was only $3900 and as has been said many times,.. its a inhouse warranty so nobody arguing back and forth and service is all set to go when making repairs.

check it out here....

I priced it online here and then went back to the selling dealer and the sold it to me for a little less than the quote.

Just the other day I got a maxcare quote on my 2022 Longhorn 7/125 $200 ded, $2530 from Ziegler.

The dealer I purchased truck through offers a free powertrain lifetime warranty with the purchase of a vehicle. It is third party, it has a large list of exclusions and all regular maintenance service must be done through the purchasing dealer. You can have the vehicle worked on anywhere (according to them) though I doubt everywhere takes it. You have to have everything preauthorized even if out on the road with emergency service.

When I bought the vehicle they offered me a 6/150 warranty $100 ded for the screaming deal of $4k she told me that was the best she could get as it was normally 5k (it also was a third party warranty as well) and don't think it was the same company as the lifetime powertrain either this one did not include the powertrain just everything else including tires and rims. Don't know the details as I told them no and did not want to discuss it any further.

I will probably go with the Ziegler offer. I could not justify the 0 ded or anything less than the $200 ded as it would take x number of claims to pay for the difference in deductible. They also offer a money back option if you don't use it. It also was another chunk higher don't recall exactly but thinking it was about $1200 more to add that option.

Barry G, I did the same as you, I took the $200 deductible to save over $1200... My hedge bet it I hope i don't need it, but if I do, I hope its not 6 times, but if it is.. then Im even money... either way I rolled the dice on not needing it but have the piece of mind as backup and was quoted about the same as yours for my 8/125k. Even $200 out of pocket is a bargain these days for what shop labor rates and Mopar parts cost.

I am liking the truck. I had to go to the sw corner of the state over the weekend about 375 miles each way. So I was in it for about 6 hours straight Friday night and then again Sunday morning. So far my only real complaint is the trim level I have came with the digital rear view mirror and some of the other safety measures which require a very large box on the windshield behind the rear view mirror. While I have not measured it it is rather large probably 8" x *8. It certainly does not obscure your view while driving down the road but does block a fair chunk of window real estate if trying to look to the right of center. say looking for an address or something like that. I will get used to it. I am still trying to figure out the large screen in the center stack, nothing wrong with it just different than the 2017 which was an 8.4. I may need to dig into the manual but the old truck the heated seats and steering wheel would automatically come on if below a certain temp. This one does not seem to do that though I may just need to try and find it in the manual and see if there is a way to set that up. Certainly nothing to cry about (talk about first world problems) but just another one of those things that you get used to until it is gone. Not that it cant be turned on anytime you want, but when it starts getting cold here sure is nice to walk out to your started truck to a warm seat instead of waiting 5 minutes for it to get warm (again real first world problem, how am I going to get through the day).
As far as drivability it seems to do very well. I think it is quieter than my 17 was and exponentially quieter than the 01 was even after doing a fair amount of sound mitigation to it. I don't seem to have the accelerator pedal lag like the 17 did which was fine unless you were accelerating and had to let off then got right back into it (plenty of threads on that issue) but have not noticed it all so far on this truck. While the ride itself is not much better coils and leafs are coils and leafs you can only expect so much from them and it is truck right. I have found it quite easy to speed if not paying attention.. The cruise control is not quite as exact as the 17. I dont think I ever saw it more than 1mph less and not sure I ever saw it over, this one so far have seen 2mph below and 2 mph above the set point. This trim level came with the better headlights which are nice and it dims the brights automatically when you get behind someone or someone comes toward you and it works surprisingly well. The headlights also move in the direction of your turn when you turn which is pretty cool. All in all so far so good and am happy or i am just trying to rationalize a few extra thousand dollars for the upgraded trim level, certainly the most optioned out vehicle I have ever owned far and away.

Yeah.. took a few weeks, way more obstruction than my 04 but you get used to it...

Everything can be configured in the setup window... just takes some time.. you can set the passenger seat also.. on / off temp set points.. mine to cooled seats come on when its hot out :D

Drove mine for the first time today in a few weeks.... it is so damn comfortable.. I love the seats!!! Guess all those years of saving and hard work are paying off.

ENJOY your new truck, I know I DO!
