WHICH oil drain plug ?!

genos garage has three:



drain and tube - (too pricey... ) - $32 or so

one-touch drain plug - (nice i think, but does it work?) $23

heavy duty drain plug - (will buy this at least if not one of the other two... ) $19



so which is the best for the money, i think the second one unless you all have different experience... thanks

I have the finger touch drain valve and like it alot, no more mess.

That finger touch one seems easy, maybee too easy, I don't want anyone gettin' any ideas of draining it without me knowing it. , I'm am ordering the drain and tube,that'll be great on those windy days, like EVERY time I change the oil.

that is VERY good point, funny though--not that i would EVER expect that to happen, but just the thought that it is possible,



of course someone can run under my truck right now with a rachet and remove the crappy one ( whoop-te-do, big loss!)



darn the hard decisions...



i think the the extra 8 dollars will be nice in the wind though. .

FWIW - I am happy with the SuperPlug that I have installed. It has a very stong magnet to catch some floating metal particles.

The Finger Touch works if you modify it. As delivered, it will not allow all the oil to drain. Earlier threads cover drilling four holes to let the oil completely drain. Having a 12V with the slow to drain pump, I shut mine off when I get home at night from second shift, slide the pan under and open the valve. By next morning, all the oil is out, the filter siphoned out and ready to change. No tools to fumble with late at night!



Since the search is down, maybe someone has that thread handy?

i use the drain tube. nice. i also have the super plug but have not used it yet.

I agree with Bill. Nothing wrong with the stock plug if you don't tighten it too tight.

FINGER TOUCH DRAIN PLUG

Anyone have the info on how to drill the holes in this drain plug to get all the oil out? Thanks jps
