You've been mislead about by-pass filtration.

By-pass filtration came into existance to extend the life of conventional oils in industrial applications. Because synthetics work well in this situation, people associate by-pass filtration as a "MUST" when using synthetics. This simply isn't true. Either type can be used.


In all the vehicles I've owned, I have NEVER... . seen less than a 1 mpg increase in fuel mileage by switching to synthetics.
While that may seem insignificant at first. Take the number of miles you drive per year, divided by your trucks "average" fuel economy. Then multiply by the average cost of fuel in your area. This number is an estimate of what you spend a year on fuel.

Then... do the same thing... only increase your trucks MPG by 1... Amazing how those little things can mean a lot at the end of the year. But insignificant at the moment.
