hello everyone,

i went to the track last weekend and ran 13. 25 @99mph

i have 4. 10s in now but would really like to go with 3. 54s. would this slow me down in the . 25 mile?

it might. 4. 10's allow you to launch faster than the 3. 54's will. but on the other hand if you are runing out of rpms the 3. 54's will bring them down so you will have a little more rpms to go before you run out.

i was locking up the conv. in 1st and leaving it locked up all the way down. my shift points were around 1600 except into OD was around 2200 rpms. my best 60 ft was 1. 825 leaving around 22 ibs of boost. at the end of the . 25 i was setting around 2800 to 2900 rpms with 33 in tall tires (255 85 16).

i just remember last time at the track (2 yrs ago ) 3. 54s seemed to be the most desirable.

with 3. 54s would i even be using OD?

Well. . figure if you throw in 3. 54 gears - you would see that same 99-100mph trap speed at only 2450-2500rpms in Overdrive.

If left in 3rd gear (1:1 ratio) - you'd see ~97mph @ 3500rpm using 3. 54 gears.
