Ok- I've got a question,

I've got a Reading 8'x4' utillity bed on my '98. 5 2500, I'd like to trade off for a normal bed/cap. Hopefully, I'm going to get to do a bunch of camping this summer in Alaska and I like the idea of crashing in my truck if its rainy and nasty out...

Which of the pickup truck beds interchange? I know the new body style started in 1994 and ended in 2002? what years will work?

and would a long bed 1/2 truck of the same body style work?

Anybody want to trade?:D

Over 250 view and nobody knows what boxes interchange?

I'm assuming a 1/2 ton box will fit a 3/4 ton, makes sense to make one box to fit all your models...

I think you are correct in assuming that all the beds are the same. I have a bed for sale. 8" complete with tailgate & lights. Maybe we could work something out? PM me if interested

Here's what a crash-part book has to say

I've got the pages out of a crash estimating data book, and it has the following information (For what it's worth) : 8' bed to 5-31-94 P/N 47622 24, From 5-31-94 to '96 P/N 47788 28, '97-'01 P/N 48747 85AB. It doesn't mention anything about a different box for a 1/2 ton or 3/4 ton. Hope this helps(and is accurate).

Thanks for all the replys!

All I have to do now is find the right person in Alaska to

trade my utility bed off to.

Wish I was still in the lower 48, had a couple of good

offers, one was even another white truck :(

But the drive would be a little long now:D
