I have a 94 ram with a 5 speed,I plan on installing 215 hp injectors. What # plate would work best for max power with these injectors?I have a 14 housing also. What kind of hp and torque numbers can I expect with this combo?

A #5 is rated to bring you up to 270/675. The 215 injectors are good for about 20 horsepower (at least that is what Piers told me for my 180 pump), so now you are at 290hp. And the 14cm exhaust housing is good for about another 10hp. So given these numbers you should be around 300hp.

The #4 plate is bigger than the #5 but I don't know how much bigger.

You might not want to put the #4 in as it'll get your egt's up. Try the #5 plate w/215's should run great. Wiyh the #4 you get some high egt's unless you change to a bigger housing & better exhaust. If you go w/#4 you should use larger injectors like the 370's & then you'll need to change the delivery valves and port the head to get egt's down. And stronger clutch too

It's not a good idea to run small injectors w/a big plate it's a good way to ruin your pump.

see my sig!

sewman,

You make is sound the the #4 is a huge HP plate compared to the #5. Is this really the case? I have never seen a 4 so I cannot comment. In numbers (HP/Torque), how much larger is the #4 than the #5. If we are only talking 20hp, like the difference between the #6 and #5, I don't know why the 4 would be so far out of the question, as you have made it to appear.

Thanks for the information,

Ryan

#4 is a good increase compared to a #5 or 6. I've got a #5 laying around if you're looking for one to buy.

I had a customer here this past weekend with a #6, and we adjusted his and it ran very nice.

A friend of mine has 95 with 370s,#4, HX40, 5" exhaust and some other tweaks and it dynoed at 423hp. Dont know about egt but its a rocket.

Hey 6,

If you are planning on bombing any further, and can go with the 370's do it. I have 215's and a #5, getting "slight" clutch slippage, I got the 215 injectors and delivery valves about 6 months ago... oh well hind sight is 20/20, right?

Later,

scott
