I've been looking at numerous dealer sites for a 2018 3500 dually. Many show the Aisin transmission but only the lower powered engines and a tow rating of <17K. I thought all the trucks with Aisin trannys were the 930 lb ft ones. Is there a way to find this without relying on a possible mistake on the website or a salesperson who really doesn't know? A designation in the VIN perhaps?

There used to be a VIN decoder on the ram/mopar owners site. But they have changed it somewhat. It used to give tow ratings, vehicle wt and payload weights. But it never gave torque/hp.

Search for tow rating tables on the internet and subtract the weight of the truck from the gcwr, and that should give tow ratings?

Also, you can search for ram vin decoder on the internet and see if there is one giving what you are looking for.

all the information I have ever seen is, if you have the Aisin....you have 930 ft/lb engine.
For my 2017...it was 900 ft/lb.

It's 20K, 25K, and 30K with the Aisin for 3.42, 3.73, and 4.10. I heard from my local dealer and got the same info as Learjet. Aisin is 930. Thanks all!
