debating on 297/70/17 toyo mt or pro comp extreme all terrain 305/65/17. both are load range e, which i need. just wondering is anyone has any mileage reports out of them. really like the mt's but i'm not sure they will last as long as the xat. and the price is quite a bit more. any comments will help.

I have the Toyo's, same size and was looking at those same procomp's and what changed my mind is that particular procomp is directional so you cant cross rotate.

A fella I know has those procomp's on a big chevy and I was looking at the wear. Looked to me like a cross rotation was needed badly but you can't.

The Toyo 35" MT are working well so far very quite for an aggresive tire. I dont have many miles yet roughly 5k. Lots of people here on TDR are saying 30-40K

i have the 305/70/16 toyo's and let me tell you i will never buy another tire. these are great they do whine some once the are broke in but i have almost 35k on them with some burn outs dounuts and off roading and they do great(should get almost 50k maybe more). im a bit of a wheeler go on trips from time to time and ive pulled buddies out where i was in the mud to reach them. the tires pull you right out no problem. to me there is no other option.

look i could go on for pages with experiences and info about these tires if you want to hear it ill tell you. you should just go buy the toyos and be happy with them you wont regret it.

Very happy with my 35" Toyo MTs I had this set on my 05 and took them off and put them on my 07 when I traded. They have about 30,000 miles on them, just guessing should get another 8 to 10,000 before they are slick. They wear very evenly and are quiet for a grip tire. They do not pull as well as the bfg mud terrains i've ran in the past but still very respectible. I like them.

Toyo mt

I just mounted a set of the Toyo mt's, Lt 295/70/17 and I like them so far. Very quiet, look good and the spare fits under the bed. No info yet on the wear. One thing to keep in mind The Toyo is rated at 3970lbs/tire at 80psi and the Procomp is rated at 3195 at 65psi max. I don't know if you have the dreaded TPMS system but if you do, you will have to use the light load setting with the Procomps and wont be able to lower the pressure too much below 60psi in the front or you will get a warning light and chiming. The procomps are 13 lbs lighter, less unsprung weight which is easier on the suspension but my vote is go with the Toyos.

If I didn't run the MTRs I'd go with the Toyo's, seem like a better tire. They support 3970lbs per tire but weigh 73lbs each.

I heard the Pro Comps wear poorly from a guy who comes into work a lot.

I run the goodyear MTRs in a load range E and get about 40k with no noise to speak of. But you have to go to the 37in tire to get the E range, but the support 4080lbs per tire, pretty beefy.
