I was looking at ordering a "Transfer Case Saver Kit" to install on my 98.

The transfer case is a "New Process DLD" which stands for Dodge Light Duty.

The parts guy was surprised this light duty unit was behind the diesel. The transfer case has been a good unit and has received excellent service over the years. (110 miles some 4 x4 off-RD) I was thinking of rebearing the unit, but I'd like to hear some comments on this model of transfer case.

What transfer case is in your truck and any problems?

4 x 4 Off road? Highway? Miles ?

New Process DLD or

New Prosess HD.

My truck has the DLD, 251K here. The torque ratings on them are 1028 ftlbs for the LD and 1400 ft/lbs for the HD. The plow prep package trucks or camper special trucks got the DHD, oh and of course all 3500's got the HD. I plan on also getting the T-case saver eventually when I get around to it.

Sorry to sound ignorant here but what is the "Transfer Case Saver Kit"?

I have the DLD with 320,00 miles and a bunch of sledpulling behind it so I might be interested.

There are two versions of the HD case. One is actually the HD and has a bigger output shaft and pto cover, you can also tell by the one piece tail section. The other has the smaller output shaft and a PTO cover.
