4bt transmission?

Swapping a 12V into an 88 F-250 4X4

Looking for a bullet proof auto should I go with a suncoast full billet NV4500 ? and what transfer case. Something to hold 700+HP

What kind of fab work will have to be done for the transmission and transfer case to fit up underneath the 88 F-250? is it just the cross member that will have to be altered?

The NV4500 is the 5-speed manual, and as far as transfercases the NP-205 is just about bullet proof. Allthough I think its a divorced setup

Yes

The 205 will bolt up to the 47RH. You need to get that transmission built if you want it to take 700 HP. It will die very quickly stock. The NV 4500 is tough and may take the punishment. Of course the you will be stuck shifting.

which transmission and transfer case

First of all why does one need 700hp if its a street truck ?

if its a raceing truck id go with a full pledged direct drive pulling type transfer case that simply has a clutch and offers forward and reverse only

if your going to play the game thats what to use ,or go big huge military stuff

The truck is drag race only. 1 driver seat that's it...

Its no longer street legal. I am not to familiar with the dodge products that's why I was asking which combo. I had been told that the NP-205 was the best transfer case that would bolt up to the 47rh (suncoast full billet)

First if you are building an all out race truck, you need to go with an automatic. The boost loss when shifting a standard will hurt you times, and will lead to less predicatability if bracket racing.

You may want to go with a built 47RE or 48RE. ATS sells a transmission controller for the RE's. You will need to use their specical valve body to allow for manual tuning. By using their box you will be able to fine tune all the shift points with a laptop.

I believe you have a drivers side pumkin on your front axle, so you will need a transfer case with a drivers side drop. This means you need to get a dodge 1994 up or a ford transfercase that has a drivers side drop for the front drive shaft. The dodges where passanger side drop from WWII thru 1993. The 205 is the strongest out there, but it is also the heaviest and smallest from what I know. The 205 is all gear driving and is the closest you can get to bulletproof all the newones developed after the 205 have chains and aluminum cases. I'm sure there are a few with cast iron cases in special applications.

If your looking for an auto maybe you should try the NV5600 instead of the NV4500.

For the transfer case maybe a 4R100 or a 47RE. :-laf :-laf

If its a drag truck on the black top , why even worry about a t-case then ?

Id go talk to a custom transmission shop and have a direct drive built ,

of which means all hp no other un needed stuff yougot forward and reverse

humm "stuck shifting"? i've never owned anything i didnt' have to shift... if you want the huge hp upgrade why not have complete control of when u r laying it on the ground? nothing against autos but i get bored in an auto and with 700hp i'd really wanna downshift and smoke 'em. i live in a college area and every honda here thinks it can beat anything. pour smoke in their window on that downshift and they back off a lil bit! haha ;)

'My two cents or so"
