Hy35 exhaust elbow?

In that paticular set-up he's using an HX-40 with a 14cm housing and a HT3B. He can use any turbo's that you wish to use. Them pictures don't do them any justice. The coating is close to chrome looking and the turbo's compressor housings are coated also.

I love my BD twins. Great price and they spool quick! For your power level I think they are a great towing combo. Fuel Economy has been great too.

Homeontheroad.org has BD twins for 98-02 for $2895. No Kidding!

twins with brake

I dont usually post to pat my back much but the twins I just built for a customer might just be perfect for you. They use the factory hy35 with a hogged out wastegate, and a bht3b, with a PACBRAKE in between. the best of all worlds, quick spooling, plenty of air, and a brake to slow you down. The guy I built these for has 100hp edms from me and a Ramifier, Works great for towing his camper and allows him to use his heavy right foot. I havent tried yet but I THINK I can fit one of the latest greatest hybrids, ( II or htt choose your poison ) or an off the shelf S300, with a pacbrake, and a S400. Now that would be an awesome setup in my opinion. If your interested in something like this, send me a pm or and email and we will see if we can figure something out.

I love my twins from Rip at Source Automotive!

I am running a HX35 hybrid on top with a modified internal gate along with an S400 on the bottom. Thye work great with my tall gears and 285's. At around 500HP, I cannot get past 1300 degrees and usually drops in below 1150.

Not the best pic, but one of that great powdercoat!

Dave:

Is the air intake (from the air filter to the S400 inlet... ) pipe welded to what most people refer to as the 'cold air' pipe (connecting the S400 compressor outlet to the top turbo's compressor inlet... )?

That would make changing the oil (filter) a bit of a PITA, no?

Matt, it is not welded. You can remove one or both pipes independant of one another.

All the parts are first class in construction. Compared to some of the other "kits" I have seen first hand, it was an easy choice to go with this set.

Also, it's a lot quieter than both of my buddys running a 3B on the bottom. Those things scream!! I had considered having PDR mod the front cover and putting in an o-ring to dampen noise. After installing and running this set of chargers, I found that was not necessary.

Lots of good options out there. I may have been happier with top end performance with an external gate. But, for the type of "normal" driving I do, this set does the job with ease!

Thanks for getting back to me, Dave. In that picture, it looks like someone ran a MIG bead across both pipes with a piece of metal between 'em.

I've never seen Rip's twins in person, but I am impressed with what I have seen on his website. He also has a very good reputation in terms of customer service.

The reason I have a set of chargers from Rip is simple. He is one of us!

From the first BOMB party I attended. Rip performed a muffler delete mod to my truck late in the day on his back in the driveway at Rob Hanson's. From then on, I have purchased several products from Rip and have always been thrilled with his high level of service. I felt guilty about calling him if I had an issue. That's how easy he makes it.

Since that first BOMB, I have had 2 sets of exhausts, a limited slip installed and a multitude of little things either done or purchased. Rip's demeanor has never changed!

When the opportunity became available to purchase this set, I jumped on it. Between Rip and Robert's high level of standards, I knew I could not go wrong. The end result is a product that fit up perfectly, worked exactly as advertised with no over the top claims and another great buying experience for me.

Rip also has some great times at the track with his '01 and rumor has it, there may be yet another track specific truck soon. And while all of this and his shop is running, you can call the guy up, glean some great technical info and move on with your project.

There are very few people I fully endorse. Rip Rook at Source Automotive is one of those rare forces of nature you have to respect.
