I have a 04. 5 600 48re and am looking to upgrade the valve body. I will eventually put a tuner back in, but for now it's stock. I drive 50% solo, and 50% towing about 12k. I've been looking at the DTT, BD, GOEREND, SUNCOAST, ATS, AND HTS. I've narrowed it down to the GOEREND or SUNCOAST based on my own research. Any thoughts?

I like my HTS a lot. The shifts are firm. That's all I know. Where are you from? You should fill out your signature so we all know what mods you have and stuff. Its under disussion forums, then user control panel.

Do you have a controller on it to lock out the torque converter? Did it make a considerable difference on towing lock out points and shift points? I just joined today so I am waiting for the info to go through.

robert you all sell quite a bit of hts you all sold a supposed race prepped one. I got 3400 miles out of it in total including no OD towards the last few hundred miles. I should have gone with an ATS but i was supposedly saving money with the HTS. in the end the HTS was a pile I got even more ****** off when i took it out of the truck and seen the rest of the trans. I was so upset I went ahead and bought a g56 on ebay and removed anything automatic related from the truck. autos were costing too much to replace all the time and require frequent expensive service (compared to cost of oil and left over silicon is much cheaper than filter, a case of fluid, flushes, adjustment to the bands every 30k) and additional monitoring all fueled my anger. I didnt have 8 grand to do put an ats and if hts can burn up the 1st time it can burn up a 2nd time. I may have went over the deep end and took my sweet time doing the swap but i am now much happier slammng gears in that truck.

now the in other 04. 5 truck the gf dont feel like shiftin gears so her truck is getting an ATS vb in place of whatever "aftermarket slightly bettter than oem" thing is in there now.

do yourself a favor and go with a ATS Diesel vb they have been in the business for years. they are formerly known as Automatic transmission specialties before they refined their interests. how long has HTS been around?

how many miles do you have on your ats valve bodies and do you have torque converters to match? why or why not?

I just had trans upgraded last year... only 13K miles to go on but it seems very durable. The lock-up controller is the best thing though. Trans temps barely budge when loaded going up grades. With 3. 54 gears and 33" tires, the final drive ratio is very tall so most of the time I ride on secondary roads with OD locked out under 50mph. My ATS does not shift mushy but it doesn't grab like I think a performance trans should. I have been told on here by other members to install a shift kit to aid in that department but have not done it yet. I also have the 5-star TC and if your stock now , that will be your best performance mod ever. I thought I needed a new transmission at 100K miles so I called ATS and they had me install a pressure gauge and do all these tests. They called back 2 days later and said my trans was fine and with my mods, i would only need a VB and TC. They strongly urged me to get their pan and Co-Pilot... which I did. They advised this set-up to be good for 450hp. I've never dynoed my truck but reading other sigs that are similar,I would say I'm around 380-400hp. Hope this helps!!

Thanks for the input. I decided to go with GOEREND. I ordered the VB,TC, and billet input shaft. Hope it works out!!
