I bought a new Glacier 2 micron filter kit and the Big line kit. The instructions say that the filter can be mounted under or behind the intake air horn. Which way seems to work the best? Any pictures out there?

If the BIG line kit is used in conjunction with the filter kit, what fittings do you then use on the filter adapter. Is the BIG line kit necessary for a stock truck with a Smarty jr? I bought the filter and the line kit together from a TDR member new that he never installed.

I mounted my Glacier 2mu filer under the air intake horn. It's accessible and doesn't block access to the stock filter. Use the big bore line kit, you've got it, why use a smaller line?

How much space does it take up? It doesn't get in the way of getting to anything? Could you also mount it on the frame rail?

Do a search on Filters. There are threads showing the filters mounted off the air horn; off the head in front of the air horn; on the frame (back by the tank); and mounted under the bed. There are a lot of choices.

I run off road fairly often and I don't want anything hanging down low so I LIKE the under horn location.

Interesting subject. I just tried to put mine on this afternoon. Note the word tried. I got the whole thing done and was double checking the work when I noticed the main 90 degree elbow was hanging low off the main filter. When I went to check, sure enough... stripped. Talk about p*(&^^& you off! I have to re-order another elbow and bolt on the bottom of the main filter.

As another note... . how does one get the elbows in the "big line" anyway. It took me forever to squeeze the elbow in and it's still not seated all the way. Any suggestions?

By the way... mine is. . was... installed like the above picture.

Take it to a hydraulic shop. They made mine that is guaranteed to hold 4,000psi. I was disapointed when I saw how cheesy the press on fittings that came with the GDP kit.
