Quick question to the Guru's with repair manuals... ...

i need to tap into my AC to actuate mu eletric fans when the AC is turned on. what wire would i tap into to do this? thanks in advance:D ... ... . james

A/C

You should be able to do what you want by tapping into the AC clutch wire at the clutch cycling switch (wire going to switch, not after) the color should be dark blue with black stripe. Of course you will need to just use this wire to trigger a relay as this won't carry the load. (I'm sure you knew that already) bg

Wire

Look under the hood on the passenger side at the firewall, there is an aluminum tank about 3 or 4 inches in diameter and about 6 or 8 inches tall. In the side of the tank is a fitting with the clutch cycling switch screwed into it. This switch has a two wire connector plugged into it. This switch is what cycles the ac compressor according to the suction pressure of the compressor. bg

still can't figure this out!

i tapped into the blue wire on the aluminum tank..... as soon as i turned on aything(heat or ac) it would switch the fan on. the wires plug into the top of the tank, not the side. also, ther is a blue and a black wire only. i can't find a blue with a black tracer. am i looking in the wrong place:confused: i need to find this wire soon!!!!! it's getting hot here fast and i love ac:D thanks for your pataince and advice... james

Ramhead,

On the front of the engine above the belt, there is a wire harness, in that there is the wire your lookin' fer, there is a couple dark blue ones however, best to take a test light to see which one you need, I just did this last week, thats where I tapped from.
