1. my 94 Cummins 3500 2WD 5-speed with my 93 Lance 900 camper in the bed, and stay in the camper while visiting kids and grandkids.
2. my wife's 2001 Tundra Limited 4WD and stay in the guest room/kid's playroom while visiting.
We're going from Ft. Lauderdale to Elizabethtown and back. No way to bypass the mountains and weather conditions are uncertain. The camper rig will average 65 mph, but with far fewer pee stops. The Tundra will average 75-80, but with numerous pee stops. The Tundra has excellent seats and a back seat to lie down on. The RAM has retrofitted BMW 16-way seats, but no back seat to lie down on, and the camper will be awfully cold to rest in while on the road. Wife will share driving in the Tundra, ut not the camper. The RAM has 170,000 miles on it and the Tundra 20,000 miles. Gas is cheaper than diesel now, and the Tundra gest about 15 mpg and the RAM about 13 with the camper. Decisions, decisions!
