Watch out for the dumb B&^%%$#$% I-90 line painting crew.

They are repainting the white lines on I-90 and oversraying our vehicles as we pass through their paint process and reroute through the dange zone.

Back home to no truck for 2 weeks and a $5000. 00 repair

only $100. 00 deduct on insurance is the only saving grace

Watch out for those *******s!!!!

Bob,

I had a similar problem with my '98. 5. The city was repainting a bridge, and my truck hapened to be in the overspray for nearly a half day. It was epoxy paint, and I thought I was going to need a new paint job...

So I called a reputable repair shop, and he recommended I wipe down the entire truck with laquer thinner, and then wax it right afterwards. I figured it couldn't hurt, since I might need a new piant jop eventually. After a whole day of cleaning, it turned out great, and couldn't even tell what had happened.

You may want to try this before getting the 'ol Ram repainted... :D

Find the name of the company and call them. That happend once with my dads car when I was at school. They had a company come in from out of state to get the overspray off of 100 cars. Did a great Job. I also had that happen in my Conquest. I just called the store it happend at(didn't see it till later). They gave me the number of the paint co and they asked me to fax and estimate. I do so and they sent me a check quickly.

other method...

Another method to remove overspray is a special clay that most automotive and body shops carry. It is commonly called "overspray clay" and it is just rubbed over the paint with some water. This stuff pulls off about anything, and the vehicle just usually needs a light polish afterward.

I used this stuff frequently for these situations. A truck takes about eight hours to do.

it is not overspray

this material is considered concrete.

the damage is done and the Ram will be better than new

That is a pi##er !

I hate to hear that. I remeber when a city crew slopped concrete all over my hood and front end, and then tried to wipe it off with rags:mad: The city had to pay for that one. Other than getting your truck sprayed how was your trip ? I've been hoping that you would share some of your experences with the membership. Maybe in instalments.
