Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) White Smoke and Missing

Well guys, it looks like the pump that I got from the shop here is an 887 pump with the cam out of a 175 pump. The timing has to be set alot ahead of anything that would make any sense for an 887 in order to run right. Once I set it up around 6mm of lift it runs pretty well.



The truck is running good now, real strong and no more white smoke.

Mike, good to hear you got it worked out but I have to ask what you think about buying a 215 pump and figure it doesn't have a 215 cam in it... ... I'd be PO'd about it.

Yeah, I'm not real happy about that. I'm still working with them about that issue. They may replace this pump before it's all said and done, we'll just have to see.



I think they're a stand-up shop that unintentionally sold me something that isn't what I (and hopefully they) thought it is and they'll make it right.



I'll let everyone know once it gets resolved.
