white smoke ruff idle !!

Problem with 05 yesterday i was hooked to my tralior about 17000 pulling a very slight grade the sound of the truck changed to like a 350 gas motor with glass packs or a helicopter with a bunch of white smoke out of the tail pipe. Truck still runs but at about 650 rpms real ruff with lost of white smoke. I have had truck to the shop scan tool picks up one code low fuel but that is from my fass being hooked up and that fuse unhooked there is no water in oil no oil in water tank no external leaks getting ready to pull valve cover and check for a broke rocker arm . Any more suggestions would be great.

Sounds like you got a set of injectors not working...



White smoke usually means, Fuel, but at the wrong time...



Did your EGT's raise condiederably when this started happening?





Maybe a dead injector, or injectors...



COULD be valvetrain, but Valvetrain is not nearly as common as injectors...

EDIT: My truck did something like that with a broken ring...

just got done checking out truck turns out that one of the valves on the #5 cylinder broke and beat the crap out of the piston thats not the bad part it cut a grove from #5 cylinder to the #6 cylinder about 1/2 in. deep in the head and the block, all of the pieces had to go on through and to boot my 3 month old htb2 turbo has to be rebuilt now due to this little mishap. now i have my awnser to my funny noise it has been making for about 11,000 miles at 2200 rpm to 2800 rpm that nobody could figure out .

That sucks... . Any ideas what caused it to break?
