Flying J and Pilot at Whiteland Road, I-65, south of Indy, ULSD. Warrick Co. Farm Bureau Co-operative, Evansville, and Boonville, IN says LSD B5 (maybe B2, not sure).
One of the two diesel pumps in town SAYS it is 500ppm- but what is it really that I am putting into my truck? Unless the engine were to act differently, I wouldn't know. Haven't heard or felt any difference between LSD and ULSD.
Lately, nearly every pump that I have been to throughout the Northeast has been relabeled as ULSD.
Bought a tank full on Thanksgiving in Macon Mo. Was surprised, thought they hadn't changed the sticker but when I looked at the fuel it was green. Truck ran better and I got my mileage back. To bad I can't find it down here.
I retract my previous post. After reading this thread, I asked the kid at fleet farm and told him if they were running LSD I would send my friends over and get them buku business, kid told me it's ULSD and the state has not relabeled the pump. They never even bothered to stop by. So don't trust a sticker. Ask.
I think it's starting to filter into the PNW, I the past 3 weeks our shop has seen a large increase in low power complaints. I started checking the API of the fuel (ULSD has less BTU's than LSD) and it's all the way up to 39*. Good #2 is 32-34, kerosene is about 40-42. Higher the #=less BTU's. Haven't noticed a diff in my truck yet though.
