Who carries Jacobs brake for 12 Valvers?

I had a conversation with a TDR/DTR member @ BMD on dyno day about somebody carrying the Jacobs Ex-brake for 12 Valve motors and can't remember who it was



I went through Jacobs site and they listed Cummins of Cumberland in Nashville... . they want $900 for it!!#@$%!



So does anybody know where I can get a Jacobs brake for a correctly valved Cummins for the best (i. e. CHEAP) price? :{

Try a truck junkyard. I dont think they wear out. Maybe replace some solenoids.

Do you get "Truckers buying guide" or "TNT"? Lots of wrecking yards advertise in there.

BTW, do you know if it's a single stage, or multiple?

My brother's 3406 cat has 3 stages. My Mack had the mack engine brake. It was a POS, but the rest of the truck was good.

I'm trying to find a Vendor of the Jacobs E-brake

Jacobs makes their own version of exhaust brake, but there are also others like PacBrake, BD and US Gear. However, these are all exhaust brakes--NOT "Jacobs" or "jake" brakes. There isn't any such thing for the 6BT/ISB.



As for exhaust brake vendors, I would bet that virtually every company that advertises in the TDR could sell you one. If I were looking to buy I'd call Piers.

Thanks Mike. I knew that they don't make a Jake Brake for our trucks, but Jacobs makes a exhaust brake.

Just would like to have the Jacobs brand brake, but I guess I'll probably have to settle for Pac for the best price.
