Now I'm not saying I'm in the market to buy a new truck ... I'm sure I have plenty of miles left in my old bucket of bolts ... especially now since I have patched up a bunch of holes in the fenders and fixed most of the rot on the door panels.

But I have just been curious to "test drive" a new CTD with the 6-speed just for fun. I have stoped by 5 dealers in the past 2 weeks in southern NH and none have a 6-speed (in fact not one dealer has a 3500 dully) ... WTF!

The one salesman did a seach and could not find one 3500 dully CTD 6-speed east of Penn.

I see F350, 450, 550 and new Chevy 3500 dully, 4500, and 5500s all the time on dealer lots ... but never once a 3500 dully Dodge at the Dodge dealer! Are they interested in selling these things, or are they only available south and wet of Penn?

The dealership I bought my new CTD from had at least 8 or 9 3500 dually's, and I think I saw three of them had 6 speeds. So maybe it's just your location

When I went looking, in January 2005, the local dealer had one 3500 DRW 6 speed on the lot. Some dealers just don't order that many of them. They like to order auto's...

It seem that around here, the only thing the dealers want to stock are the 2500 SWB autos. Hopefully, you can find a member who will let you test drive their truck.

I have never seen one on any dealer lots around me in MA or southern NH.

They will NEVER see a 6 speed truck here in Illinois, and if you want to order one, it's a $5000 non-refundable deposit required at the time of ordering. Nobody wants stick shift trucks. Around here mine is one of a kind.

i'll be home in the concord area next month for a week, i wouldn't have a problem letting you drive mine.

Thanks for the offer, but I don't want it to be a burden scheduling a ride. I really want to test drive EXACTLY what I would be interested in ... dully, longbed, 4-door 4X4 with 6speed. And I want to beat the Snot out of it on the "test" drive.

Maybe sometime if I ever get out west and south of Penn and have time I'll seek one out for a test ride.

I just think it's ridiculous that not one Dodge Dealer in Mass/NH has at least ONE of these truck configuration ... at lease someone should have a 6-speed on the lot.

This may not help at all, but there should be one in southern NY if you are ever in the area.

I test drove one at "Rockland Chrysler Jeep Dodge". It was a nice ride!

A quick look at their inventory online suggests that it is still there. It may be there a while, since 6-speeds seem to be very hard to find in this area, and even harder to move once they are on the lot. I had to travel to NC from NJ to find my 6-speed 2500. Glad I did, since I am not to fond of the 2006 front end.

Rockland C/J/D, I pass by that way when I come home to NH from visiting my folks in NJ ... not far from the Tappanzee bridge.

I stopped by a Dodge dealer today at lunch to see if they might have a 6-speed anything ... nothing. I got the look like I just landed in a UFO from Mars. Then the guy says that I was the 3rd person to ask about a manual CTD truck in as many days. "Ya, think it might be a good idea to have one on the lot?", I sayz to the guy ... aaah, its like talking to my cat.

It probably won't be till 2008/09 till I get another truck (or maybe a 2006 if the EGR ISBe looks to be MAJOR trouble in 2007). :(

I'm tempted to say that's BS. Foster Dodge in Middlebury Vermont usually has a TON of 6 spd rams on the lot. At least they did the last time I was there (before the G56 came out). The place where my brother bought his 3500 DRW 6 spd. from said the same thing about none being in this part of the country. Sure enough, he drove 1 hr. to Foster & they had a ton of them.
