and the reason I need to do this is? besides you and a few who don't want it to be true . everyone else accepts the fact. I don’t go to the track to with the premise of having to prove anything a NHRA time slip is all that is necessary.

Who cares.....

All anyone has said is "I think, I heard, rumor has it etc. etc. etc... ... ". You guys make me laugh :-laf :-laf , Edge has done exactly what they wanted to do and that's to get under your skin. . :D This is a hobby for them, and a marketing tool as well. It is a means to establish the name "EDGE" as a household word in the diesel performace world much like Banks. Summit Racing, and Jegs do it in the gas world to promote their business. It doesn't matter if their truck is "chipped" or not, 12v or 24v, it is to provide a vehicle to promote their name and brand name products for diesel performance. You guys forgot, Edge was the first Company to get into the electronic performance tuning of diesels back in the early 2000's. They have nothing to prove, or to gain by replying to this tread too you few ego minded jealous individuals. Trying to de-grade a pioneer vendor in the diesel performance arena is only fueling your own want to be drag queens. Those of you that are serious players, my hats off to you and offer great success to you in keeping the sport alive. This tread is going in the same direction as most of the transmission treads which is to pit one vendor or persons against each other. Edge however, has more class then to get caught-up in a situation of defending itself or responding to put more fuel to the fire. Stop you're whining :{ and post information that is helpful and productive.

Thank You HeberRam! I could not have said it better. I don't know why everyone seems to think that they need to put someone in their place. Do it on the track and if the other guys don't show up, oh well! I am not a real high horsepower guy, but I do appreciate what Edge has done along with the other manufacturers out their. Do you guys remember the blue box for the early 24 valve. I think it is great that someone can improve on others products. I remember when DD was first doing their injectors and everyone was saying they were no good and would just wash fuel down the sides, contaminating the oil. Now everyone is doing it! Lets keep things civil so everyone will want to hang out and read these things! Lets not ruin what we have!

You're Joking, Right?!?!

They paid the money to put their ***** in the flames.

And not to stoop low enough to defend yourself?!?! It has never worked that way. . You run your mouth... . You back it up.

That's it... . my tractor motor is too pretty and fast to be threatened by the likes of you... . Even Comp isn't that full of ****.

Excellent marketing point. Edge has the finest advertising tool and billboard out there, perfect and well built. 99% of the people that see it only understand that it is a diesel, but do not know enough to understand the difference between a mechanical and a electronic engine. To them "Who Cares?. "

Many people asked about whey we went with a 24V in the dragster when a 12V would be easier. I felt that the visibility of the engine made it mandatory to have the latest version of our engine in order to use it for marketing our later products.

Many of you may not know that we started with a VP44, and had sime luck with it, but went back to the P pump for brute simplicity.

Here is a photo of the old car, with the VP:

That holley pump looks like the one i run a 160 GPH volumax but id say thats the 260 ???

Just a simple Holley Blue Pump with a higher PSI spring. It was enough for 500HP or so, but then... ... . Needed more...

That's my point!

To promote their "electronic performance tuning" company they build then an P pumped race engine.

One thing I don't get though... .

If one produces APPLES why does he promote ORANGES??? :confused: :confused: :eek: :-{}

Kinda like a Winston Cup car with the word Cummins on it!

#ad

And look, it says Ford on there to... ..... Must mean they own Cummins :-laf

Hey, Diesel Performance to the masses is Diesel Performance.

Why does Ponitac sponsor NHRA Funny Cars when they all have a derivitive of a Chrysler HEMI in all of them? When was the last true Pontiac race engine? I had a set of Pontiac Small block Chevy Heads, but that was the last thing I remember.

Say he did admit it, and produce did produce a time sheet, still nobody saw the run and he would probably get treated similiarly to what Comp is treated cause there will always be non-believers. Its a lose lose situation for Keith, so he will take the high road and let the Edge mis-information department do what they are supposed to do, generate sales for Edge. It has worked for Banks for years now.

Bottom line is that until we see the truck in action, its all left up to speculation. As far as I am concerned, Keating has the fastest truck, and Scott is the fastest rail.

To me , Comp and Edge are the same. All talk. If anything , Comp is jealous because Edge has the know how of marketing and Comp hasn't figured it out yet.

Look at Banks... . most all Banks stuff is junk, but yet they are on every page of Diesel advertising out there. To the novice, they buy what they see, not what is proven to them.

Keating fastest , and Scott the fastest rail... . agreed.

and how do you back that up. Keating even is trying to catch me , so where do you come off with they are faster . get a reality check

But in my opinion this isn't Greg's fault, its not his job to advertise the truck or its accomplishments, unless he has some vested interest (ie part owner / sponsor) then his only vested interest in advertisement would be to advertise is driving skills in order to land a bigger and better ride. My opinion is that the advertisement should be up to the sponsor, why else would they be putting all the money into it in the first place, a few strategically placed ads or comments would be a drop in the bucket compared to the money that has been invested in the truck already.

Greg, you may have the record documented in some record book somewhere, but to those of us that still believe in the motto of "seeing is believing" Keating has the fastest truck. There are alot of people who believe this, just not many who will say it on here due to what other people will say or think of them.

Besides, why would who "we" think or call the fastest bother you anyhow? Afterall, "we" (being the diesel community) isn't the audience your interested in targeting anyhow, right?

Edge wasn't the first. TST and Blue Chip were the first in late 99. I'm not sure which was actually first as they both released around the same time frame. I've had a TST Powermax on my truck since September 99. Van Aaken was out before the Edge box as well. Edge didn't come out with products until May of 2000 as far as I can tell.

When I read COMPs posts, I insert Nick's, Carlas ex husbands voice from Cheers. With Cliffs expertise, of course. Try it, it makes the posts much more entertaining. ;) :-laf

Driving is the smallest part of my deal. I’m sure could even teach sleddie to drive,,, with a few shock collars. But this misconception that I am just a driver, well you’re getting me confused with the Weasels driver Keith, who self proclaims he knows nothing, and is only a “SHOE’.

I do have a lot of experience driving, and winning, but the skills that acquired me this project, are skills that everyone that has every talked to me realize in short time, I get the job done, will not let any obstacle stand in the way to achieving the stated goals . I take “no” as just another way of saying you haven’t convinced me yet, but keep on trying . I also have a great depth in knowledge base, another way of saying I have a good speed dial of people to consult. I also have freely given that knowledge to anyone who has asked.

When I first started to campaign my G. M. PERFORMANCE PARTS competition eliminator dragster, I sought out help , Warren Johnson offered his knowledge if ever I was in need of direction , but his rules were simple , first rule was don’t ask a question you already know the answer to , and second never ask a question You can’t understand the answer to.

The point of this is I have a background of doing exactly what I am doing with the little truck. I attack the problem with every single asset available and at every angle possible, until I deliver the promised overwhelming performance.

You have known Ideal of where this is going as long as I continue on with this project. I don’t expect to just stay ahead, but run off and leave the rest of the pact. I truly believe that a 7 second pass in a Diesel powered truck is possible , and will come to pass in the next few months. I have long term goals to run in the mid 7 second range in a truck before I pass this quest on . I will be moving up to race the truck in NHRA Top Sportsman a 7. 95 minimum index class.

I do every element of this project, assembly, engineering, tuning, acquiring the necessary capital, and decide whose parts to invest my time in . Every component that goes in the project is weighed in its relation to the other parts . . I use the best peoples help to accomplish this projects, but every aspect is under my supervision. , so to all that have a hidden agenda, you look so insufficient in your attempt to discredit me to overcome your own short comings .

I talked to Diesel Power and they did not get any news form Edge, it’s was just a picture and rehashed story, and a new guy is in town , at that helm of that magazine. The days of truth being bough with advertising dollars is almost certainly over. After talking at length with him , I am total convinced that there will be a little integrity at Diesel Power Magazine.

In march I will be in the Weasel’s home town and if they are in super secret , mega mental testing mode , well let them set any record straight , any maybe set up a possible charity benefited race . wow what a write off if they just had a race truck that could run .
