I just bought my 09' 3500 and would like to hear from people who drive the hell out of their trucks. I'd be interested to hear how things have held up once you get well past the 100K mark. If emissions testing isn't out of control I'll do a DPF delete at 100K but I'd like to hear how trucks are holding up with and without DPF's.

I have an 08 C&C 5500... it now has 110K miles... we run it at close to 19,500 lbs most of the time and so far has performed well... the cost per mile compared to the F550 it replaced has been lower... . We've not had the injector and other issues...

I don't know why you'd want to do the DPF delete, just run these trucks like you stole it... and it will be fine... .

Remember some day you might have to have this truck meet emission requirements... also remember that dealers don't take back trades that have emission equipment removed. .

We just renewed our tags on the 08, passed with no problem. .

If I removed the DPF I would definitely keep it stashed away for safe keeping in case emissions testing becomes more stringent. Improved mileage (2 mpg?) especially if Diesel gets back up to the $4 range again would be my motivator for the DPF delete. Plus not having the EGR has got to help with longevity.

I hit 295,000 today... Runs like a dream and wouldn't think twice about running it anywhere. I pull 12k +/- on a 28' gooseneck 95% of the time. Can't wait to get my 300k badge.

Went over 228,000 yesterday. The oilfield is picking up and I'm hauling again. 40' gooseneck with up to 15k payload.

I watched Two Guys Garage this morning (Sun 1-24) as Sam Memmolo voiced
the advantages of the new 6. 7L. He mentioned an '07 with nearly 300k on the od.
Nearly every mile was towing a loaded 5th wheel. Cummins disassembled the
engine and it still met new engine specs. Considering Cummins quality and testing, I would
not lose any sleep.
