In an attempt to locate a 2 micron filter for my trucks I emailed 3 of the filter manufactures listed above..... I had to call 2 of them as they didn't answer, but the jest of the call and email turned up that in fact they DO NOT or have they ever sold a 2 micron filter, even though their distributors tell you that what your buying is in fact a 2 micron filter... .
I suggest that you either contact your distributor or contact customer service of the filter your trying to buy to verify that in fact it is a 2 micron filter... see this in writing... .
Since my emails all come from an office computer with my company signature on the page, the one company that did respond did so not from the sales department but the engineering department.....
Since I'm not an engineer I had to send the note to my son, a PE to have him put it in terms I understood... . and what I learned was that it was their belief (filter manufacturer) that no company could hold 2 microns for more than a few hours with the pressures we are seeing in our trucks... . that at best 10 was what they felt they could do, month in and month out... .
I have left off the name of that manufacturer because the guy was speaking of the industry as a whole and it was his personal belief that if his company couldn't do, no one really could... ...
Since I believe that this post will flame some of you... please understand that is not my intent... . its a matter of you throwing money at a problem that maybe no one can really deal with... . and maybe after a couple of days of running the filter you've installed is really no better than the 10 micron that comes in the truck...
If you find a manufacturer that has posted on his web sight, that in fact his product for our trucks... . at the pressure our fuel systems sees, will function please post it here... . I'd like to own several of them...
