'97 no cracks until... ... ... last week, now I have two.

I have one on the passenger side vent and have always had a dash cover and use window shades. I think it has slowed the cracking down but it there.

My 96 has 3 small cracks. But my 99 Toyota Camry (spent its whole life outdoors), and my 90 Lexus (spent the last 15 years outdoors) don't have cracks.

No wonder Dodge is going under.

I have an 01, in 03 dash was replaced under warrenty, in 07 dash started cracking again,in two places, and now have to change black bezel trip around radio,a/c control, headlights,& gauge panel.

My 02 has 3 cracks that go all the way from the windshield back. They all came in the past year since I have only had the truck a year and it didnt have any when I bought it. I guess it doesnt like bein garage kept now after never being before lol I have no idea why it started once I bought it, but I suppose ill buy a new cover from Geno's when I get tired of looking at it.

My 02' dash cracked in 08'. It's only a minor crack so far.

Not sure if it has been posted before but, call this number 1-800-992-1997. I got the number from a dealer that I had called about my dash just to get a quote for the repair and he informed me that some folks have gotten help from Chrysler on this. I spoke with a woman who set up a case number then referred me to another lady who was very nice about the subject. All I have to do now is get the dealer to look at it then call her with the details, she said she would then notify me of what can be done. Not sure what if any help I will get but it don't hurt to try.

That number is consumer line to Chrysler support. Its in all owner manuals. Did you get someone in the USA or India? It was India and was suppose to be converted back to the USA.

I made the call also with same results. If you do call make sure you have the VIN, mileage and the name of the dealer ship that does your service work. I woman I talked to was helpful and told my most of the dash problems they have are in the southern states.

I was told by a dealer close to me that if you call call early in the day. They switch to a call center sometime after 4 pm I think.

My 01 is not only cracked but missing a huge chunk right in the middle of dash by windshield. Have found the perfect spot to carry my extra ball cap with the RAM emblem facing out. Hides pretty well.

I have not seen a single cracked dash that has been covered by a dash topper from day 1. I have toppers on both of mine. The first upgrade installed should be a topper

My wife's 2000 is cracked with a 2" diameter piece out on the RH side near the pillar. Very sorry design and material.

What is a dash topper? All my vehicles have a fabric dash cover made to fit.

they replaced mine on my 02. started crackin at 20k told dealer to look at it then, they said it wasnt coverd. 3 yrs later after this post, called customer care they started a claim for me. took 1 yr for the dash to come off backorder. when it did they replaced it all for 200 dollars and only charged a 1hr extra to install my ac condensor and heater core. Oo.
