Who has a generac 4000xl

I've been looking at generators to power my 5'er at the races, and i'm leaning towards this one. Just wondering if anybody has one, and if they are very loud.

I have the Generac 5000 Power Plus and I would only use it if you can tolerate noise.



I bought it for power outages



EDIT BTW Yamaha and Honda make very quiet and relaible units but its $$$$$$$$$

I have a Onan Pro-5000, made by Cummins. Quite and extremely durable.

I bought a 3500 Generac for use with my fiver and it is a bit noisy. Used it one season and now it's in the storage shed awaiting a blackout. For quietness, the Honda seems to be the quiestest I have run across.

There was a discussion about generators awhile back. The general consensus seemed to be that yes Generac's are loud. I have the Megaforce 6500 model and had been pretty happy with it overall. Then, I went to use it the other day and zip. No output. No time to check it out so I hauled it in for service. Guy at the place I took it said that he hoped it was not the stator as they could run $500! Ouch. I forget how many hours I have but at only 3 years old, I hope it's nothing serious.
