I think I read in the last TDR that the outlook monitor reads pressure from the ECM, with a limit of 26000 (as high as the sensor will read). I may be wrong, but that's what I recall. I don't think there's a separate unit available.



It would be cool to have one that mounted on the rail, maybe between the rail and the relief valve.

the on board rail pressure sender is limited to approximately 26,000 PSI. Figures above this, reported by the oulook monitor, for example, probably represent commanded pressures, which may or may not be actually achieved in the rail.



I have been working on a rail pressure gauage, and expect to use Diprocol's new stepper motor technology which offers extraordinary accuracy for an analog gauge. I still do not have any firm commitments from Dirocol, but I'm now working on the wiring harness for the gauge.

y'all should see what rail pressure does under various conditions. I know I'm a hopeless analytic, but for me its a must have gauge to watch. very cool.

The only way to currently read the pressure is with the scan tool. Making a gauge that reads from the sensor should not be that hard for someone that knows electronics. The rail pressure sensor is just a variable resistor, so you should be able to take the signal and translate it into a pressure.

a scan tool will not read the correct rail pressures when a pressure box is installed. The signal from the on board rail pressure sender is produced by an active amplified device. hook up a high impedance voltmeter to see its behavior

Your right, didn't think about a truck with a pressure box installed. Couldn't you tee off a fitting for a second sensor?
