I am looking to do a sport conversion on my truck, just the headlights and tailights and grill, no bumper exchange since i plan to go to buckstops in the next year or so. I have a few questions however

1. will the sport grill work with a non sport front bumper till i can afford buckstops

2. how hard is the grill swap

3. how hard is it to wire in the sport headlights,

4. what will i need to do the conversion i am wanting to do

5. where is the best place to locate the parts i need.

Thanks in advance for the info guys i really need it.

1. will the sport grill work with a non sport front bumper till i can afford buckstops No unless its a 98 on down sport Grill 2000+ you need the real deal

2. how hard is the grill swap Easy Provided you have the sport grille frame AFTER 2000

3. how hard is it to wire in the sport headlights, I am not going there

4. what will i need to do the conversion i am wanting to do

Grille frame and release rod thingy

5. where is the best place to locate the parts i need. Yards , dealers.

Sport headlight conversion was a pretty easy deal. The hardest part was deciding to go 12volt + or - switched.

I ran a relay for each circut on each side. So a total of 4, 2 on each side. One for low beam, one for high. Just a redundancy in case I lost a relay. Also, my harness completely plugs in. No cutting. That is the other reason for my layout. I could seal the factory ends for the "just in case" factor.

I did the swap, and as stated above, it's easy. I would go the ebay route, or the links at the bottom. I called the stealership when I was doing the swap just to price them, $400 for both sides. So I went ebay, $200 for both sides with bulbs. I'm not electic/wire savy like the other guys here, so I bought the wiring harness instead of wiring my own. Here are the sites I got my stuff from.

Under the headlight wiring harness section, it's the last red description towards the bottom. I'm really happy with the harness, clean, heavy duty, and plug-n-play.

9004 to 9004/9007 Dodge Ram Super Heavy Duty Conversion Harness with 4 relays

(converting from a single 9004 factory bulb to the dual 9004 & 9007 bulb Sport Model headlights)

The 99+ sport grille can be installed on a standard SLT bumper. It is a very tight fit but is can be done. It is much easier, and cleaner looking IMHO, if you trim the bumper a bit to allow for the taller 99+ sport grille but it can be done without any bumper trimming.

As mentioned you need the grille, bracket, and hood latch rod.

For the headlights the two wiring harnesses is the way to go IMHO. It will take a little wiring ingenuity to get it to work properly. Otherwise you can but a sport headlight conversion britebox from Genos Garage.

If you check the TDR classifieds there is a set of 99+ sport headlight for sale there :)
