2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Who has done the mirror swap?

Studs are really long and of course not enough thread for the nut to go up to the door, looks there needs to be some kind of spacer or something.

Sounds like you are missing the reinforcement plate. I believe (if my memory is correct) it's triangular shaped and goes up against the inner part of the door frame and then the hex nuts tighten up against the plate.
