Who has Moog coil springs?

Paccool had a good idea. I, too, have the sag syndrome, one side worse than the other. I'm going to replace my springs and will probably go with Moog. What do those who have them think? Anything you're glad you did? Anything you'd do differently?

If your truck has sag more on one side, check your cab mounts too. My truck has a slight lean to the left cause the cab mounts on that side got smushed by the 300lb dude that used to own my truck.

I still have a good amount of rise from my Moog 7226S coils I put in. I wouldn't do anything differently, however I would stress that you have good bushings and ball joints when you do the switch. otherwise wear will occur more quickly and why not fix it when it's all apart anyway. I'd recommend moog servicable chassis parts as well. Moog problem solver I think they are called. more expensive than autozone brand but high quality. you can see my pics of the springs in the readers rigs gallery.

tkingsbury: I don't think it's the cab mounts. They appear to be the same thickness on both sides, although they are kinda cracked.



pepecat: Thanks for the advice. I replaced some ball joints a year ago or so, and will consider the others when I do the springs.

What a difference! I went ahead and did the ball joints (uppers on both sides) and control arm bushings, too. The steering is a lot tighter now--tracks better. And, I swear it's got more rwhp now, too, with more weight on the rear wheels. Next year, I'll have to re-contour the leaf springs.

Dodge still has the kit for the left side of our trucks. It is a spring spacer for the left front spring to correct the sag to the left side. Our trucks are heaveir on the left due to the fuel tank and other things. They realized this and developed a kit for the sag. I put the kit in mine when I installed the moog springs and now mine sits higher in the front and level.

Wow! A picture is worth a thousand words... Thank you for posting the pics, I have been researching a front spring R&R since buying this 89'. What was the P/N you finally went with? And where did you buy them?

rlyons: I'm pretty sure the sag you see on the left side, assuming you looked in my gallery, is from worn out leaf springs in the rear. Once I re-contour them, or at the least add a leaf to the left, the sag will be gone. I don't forsee doing this again any time soon. But, I'll look into the kit for reference.



sdstriper: I'm not sure if I can track down the p/n's. But, I went with napa precision chassis parts (sorry pepecat) and gabriel shocks. I had some difficulty finding shocks that were the right length.
