:) Just bought a 1992 D250 2wd with 262,000 mostly highway miles with the original auto transmission(has not been rebuilt yet).

Would like to hear from people with comparable mileage #s of

any year model, please specify auto transmission or manual, orig or

rebuilt and how many miles on truck.

Thanks In Advance Everybody;)

Just bought my truck about three months ago. It has about 253000 on it now. The auto trans was supposed to have been rebuilt at about 150000 and it is still working OK. The rear end will need work soon and the PCM is on Its way to get rebuilt--OH the joys of buying a used truck:{ but I still love my dodge and will do whatever it takes to keep it going

i just turned 482,000km in the 93 the other day! think that is alittle over 300k. runs great need to do some tweekin then it would run better!

There is a livestock hauler/farmer that I know. He has '01 3500 4X4, auto. Has over 250k. on it. Never asked about the transmission or what he has done to it. Don't see him much, or have much time to talk.

I bought my 90 with 103k on it. Never changed a thing. Auto transmission went at 232k. Rear end turned into steel salad at 304k. Had to have a work truck so I got a 93. Still planning to get old Blue back on the road. She never leaked a bit of oil up until I shut her down.

There have recently been 2 articles on million milers in the TDR magazine.

What a great club/magazine/website!!

You guys are what makes it that way.

My niece's husband has a 90 auto with just under 300,000 km with no work on the transmission. Truck runs real good!

Our 1993 W-350 has 284K on it with a 5-speed. The Getrag is almost junk. The rear axle has been rebuilt twice. The 1st time was a very poor job by the previous owner's shop. The second time was done right.

The W-250 has 216K on the original 518A. It is still tight and works great. I have pulled up to 15K with it. I just keep it serviced and adjusted everyt 12-15K.

There haven't been any engine problems with either truck. Neither are stock :D Hope this helps you out a bit.

My truck just turned 300,000 miles today:D. So far I have had to repair the follwing, front and rear axles, and turbo. I have also replaced the transmission twice, the first time due to cooler lines rubbing on each other and wearing a hole in them, the second time due to overzealous use of the ample torque that the Cummins supplies. The current transmission is holding up really well despite some pretty hard use.

Enjoy your truck.

Kurt.

My 93 has 208,000 miles, second getrag, and just broke the dana 70 for the first time friday night.

Just bought a 90 w250 with the 727 in it. Its original, still shifts well. Gonna take the pan off and adjust it soon. Oh it has 162,000 miles of farmer style abuse.

I wouldn't worry about that kind of mileage as far as the engine is concerned. The guy who owns a local welding fab shop has a 1991 D-250 with 275K. He knows nothing about it other than its a diesel pickup and it still runs great for a daily driver. Totally stock and still going strong. He gets his oil changed every 5000 miles at the Pennzoil quicky lube where he lives. They've done it since day one... . Pennzoil 15W40, Pennzoil Filter, air filter, transmission, diff etc. He has no clue what Fleetguard or synthetic oils are. He just needs a good truck and he has one. Of course, everytime I stop in there he tries to convince me I need to trade my 99 even for his since his is "already" broken in and it would save me all the trouble. :).

mileage

I have three CTDs. My daily driver is a dually with 253,000. My crewcab conversion has 175,000 and the parts truck I bought has 340,000. My last one had 170,000 when I sold it and it has another 50,000 now. All except the crewcab have Getrags and original engines with the exception of different injectors and two had injector pumps replaced. I love these engines and will never be without one!

I've got 283k and change on the clock. I got the truck with about 235k, and I guess it got a new Dirtbag at about 150,000. So basically I'm just waiting for the day that #2 decides to crap out on me. I just hope it holds on until I can find the money for an NV4500

Bought my first CTD in 99. 92 D350 club cab, 3. 54 auto. It now had 238K on it; Mom bought it with 175K. So far have had the rear end completely rebuilt (shop screw up replacing pinion seal, not due to age or miles). Pump and injectors rebuilt last year. Original 518, front end, everything else in engine. Can get 20 mpg on hwy with tailwind and light right foot. I used to get 20 in town, and 22-23 hwy.

Last year I had a 92 W250 I bought with 225K. Drove it back from Chicago, 22. 5 mpg with original fuel system. Replaced clutch, transmission to t-case adaptor, brake master cylinder, and a few odds and ends. Traded it for my 91 plus a little cash (to me) in March of this year. This one has been the most trouble, but is still not bad, all things considered- it was a hot shot for 200K pulling a 35' G-N hauoling tractors all over. Pump had been "turned up a bit" by a previous owner. I've had to replace the head gasket (blew after I advanced timing), turbo (no pyrometer, hot shutdowns), throw out bearing, two U-joints. Got the rear end new bearings and another carrier. R&P still good. It needs injectors, and the head has cracks between every injector hole and intake valve seat. Doesnt sem to affect performance or how it runs. They run them on Case tractors with bigger cracks, they guy said at the machine shop checking it. Manifold has shrunk a bit- bolts on each end broke or were close at HG time. It has a few cracks in the body, and it rattles going over 20 down SEMO gravel (boulder) roads, but still gets 19mpg with one injector popping at 500psi and the others about 500psi low. (Cant wait to get new ones and 24 mpg Oo. ) I wont have another vehicle of any kind, except MAYBE a VW or Mercedes diesel. The Cummins Super B rocks!!
