Got to know how much some of you have spent fixing up (bombing) your truck?? Might come in handy when the wife yells about something I bought for my truck :D

Keep in mind mine is in Canadian pesos-but the last time I looked I was well over $70K counting the truck itself... ... . :--) Ain't that a kick in the pants? Over the span of the next couple weeks or so I should have dropped better than $3K more into it in "improvements"... ... and I can't see the light at the end of the tunnel yet. Guess it's better for me than crack cocaine would be-but it's sure putting a hurting on my beer fund! :D

I am with Steve... ... ... .

Actually it depends what you want to count, if you count go-fast stuff its alot more reasonable than if you count all the stuff on my truck...

The last time I added every thing up it was over $15K. Now I got some of that back when I sold some injectors and stuff like that but its still a chunk of change. I also did not go for the inexpensive stuff (SPA gauges vs others) and group purchases where not in exsistentce. For example my 4" exhaust was $750 and now you can pick them up for $400.

Its an expensive hobby but if I had not done this I would have invested the $$ in some crappy dotcom company and lost it all anyway. . :D

Here is a poll that some one did on this same subject: Poll

Do A Poll

I might be embarrassed to tell you, but if you put it up as a poll, I might respond. After all, MY WIFE might see it!!! Besides, it's her truck anyway... . but she lets me drive it!

P. S. I didn't see that previous poll, but I'll tell you now that it didn't go high enough!

How should I add this up? Some people pay to have they're upgrades "installed", and some guys like me, do ALL they're own work. So I'll let you figure it out, I've spent well over 10k, and did everything myself, so add that to MY installation rate, and it's a butt load, to say the least. The worst part is, I'm just gettin' started. :( Now I know why I'm broke all the time:{ . Thanks fer bringin' this up Pit Bull. LOL

Like JHanson said, at least it's not spent on crack, or gambling, or women. :D

Yep, and the women get real mad when you spend it all on the truck to.

This would be the reason I'm single. :p

Guess what though, It's paid off and if I ever get rid of it (which I wont) it wont take everything I own with it. :D

Does that mean it would be smarter to marry your truck and just buy a women when you need one :D

It wouldn't be smarter, but it might be cheaper... . :D Don't hold me to that though, I wouldn't know !

As for how much I've spent getting to around 500 HP, I decided not to drive myself crazy thinking about it. It's a huge amount, that's for sure. And that's not even taking into account the high miles from driving to diesel events and going on vacation, or the really BIG cost of repairs. My repair costs on this 2001 are fast approaching the cost of my BOMB's ! :--) Just to replace the lightweight GM steering parts on this truck... :( and the lift pumps... .

Well I bought the truck used with many things on there. But if you added up engine, transmission, mag-hytecs, gauges, interior, stereo/alarms, lighting, exterior, canopy, running boards, wheels, bedliners, bla bla bla... .

About $16K - $18K in parts and labor, to fix a bone stock truck up so its like the one I got now. Many things I did myself or at BOMBer parties, but not things like DTT trannys.

Oh yeah, and like everyone here, I still have a huge list.
