Attention: TDR Forum Junkies
To the point: Click this link and check out the Front Page News story(ies) where we are tracking the introduction of the 2025 Ram HD trucks.

Thanks, TDR Staff
Sarj, So tell me is that a diesel or a gasser :confused:If it is a diesel then there is no problem but if it's a gasser there's a problem and you should not win even though That it is an cool old Dodge vintage truck ,It should not of been entered in this competition . If you look at all the entries they are all diesel trucks and not a gassers , and it should not be entered in our calendar since this is a dodge diesel site . (TDR) which stands for Turbo diesel registry I thought . So hopefully Robin and her staff will make this right :)

It is definitely a cool truck ,But it's on the wrong site :-laf:-laf

Quote from Robin, OK, so not many of you have (or were willing to admit you have) the "Ugliest Truck on the TDR. " So, let's see how many of you are willing to strut your "coolest truck" on the TDR!

Robin said, "coolest truck", she didn't say anything about diesel or gasser. Sarj does have the coolest truck and he won the contest fair and square.

Let it be dsherman.

My personal opinion on this matter is that you are trying to play the "word" game: :-{}

Yes she did say the coolest "truck" and not "Coolest Diesel Truck": But I would think that when you have "Coolest truck" contest on a website called Turbo DIESEL Register you would think that the winner would at least have a diesel engine under the hood. I think it was assumed that it did. Believe me im in no way disgruntled about the fact that I didn't win but I am taking sides with dsherman on this one. If you enter a Coolest Truck contest on the Turbo Diesel Register you better not be able to see spark plug wires when you open your hood. It would be like me going onto a Honda website and winning a "Coolest Vehicle" contest. I'm sorry it was wrong to award the "Coolest truck" contest on TDR to a gas powered vehicle.

Sarj: This is in no way slamming you or your vehicle. It is a beautiful truck im sure you have tons and tons of hours into making it as nice as it is and a perfect candidate for a Cummins transplant.

I totally disagree with you. You're making to many assumptions. This website has many other members with other trucks and engines besides our beloved Dodge with a Cummins diesel. Many of our members have Hemi engines, plus we have member with Furd with PowerJokes engines and GM trucks. Some are conversions. They should be allowed to participate as well.

Nothing in the rules said anything that all entries had to have a Cummins diesel engine.

Grizzly ,
You are right, She did say coolest truck But yet she said it on A Diesel website That her and her husband own which is called TDR Turbo diesel registry Not a fuel injection gas :-laf:-laf:-laf i'm not sorry that I lost, I really don't care ,It was fun competing against Like trucks ,To be specific Dodge trucks To go further Dodge trucks with Cummins engines in them :D This is A Dodge diesel forum Not a Ford ,Not a Chevy Not a Dodge Hemi gasser sites But a dodge Cummins diesel site, Let's stick to the basics here All I'm trying to say Is that Gasser should not be allowed to compete against Diesel trucks On a diesel website ,I think that 59 Dodge truck Is an awesome truck And if he was competing against other gasser trucks He would be the most likely candidate To win a competition like this But not here on a diesel site . There were a lot of competitors That entered this competition That put a lot of work into cleaning up their rig to compete Including myself As you can see in my Entry, My 02 Which is almost eight years old Looking like it's a brand new Takes a lot of work in effort To maintain this and to beaten out by a gasser truck On a diesel forum Isn't cool . Grizzly ,In my opinion Fair and square Is not relevant in this situation .
So with that Mr. Grizzly , Let Robyn reply Please !!!!

PS , Here it is the TDR Caption Beneath their header Which reads , Established 1993 , "We are the number one resource for Dodge/ Cummins turbo diesel truck Information "
I don't see anywhere It saying anything about Any other manufacturer !!!! Or for that matter Anything about gasser :-laf:-laf:-laf

Grizzly let it be :-laf:-laf:-laf

Sorry 'bout the delay answering, I've had a busy week.

Presently the truck is bone-stock restored, done about 6 years ago. It's got a straight six 265. Yes, it's a gasser, and yes, I'm in the process of prepping it to swap in a 4BTA. There's a lot involved to do that. I didn't mean to ruffle any feathers by entering it and especially after seeing the trucks getting posted, I was almost embarrassed that I posted it here... except for one thing. It really is a cool truck (and I own it), that, and I look at these old Power Wagons as what started it all. I'm genuinely embarrassed that it won.

In all honesty, there's a guy here on the forum that blows my doors off on the old FFPW's. The guy is the absolute coolest and most knowledgeable guy on these things and he's beyond generous with his time & sharing information to help guys like me. He's on his third Cummins swap, and his trucks are off the charts. Because of him, swapping in the Cummins is a reality & not just a dream.

As far as the trucks that entered go, I know its a Dodge/Cummins site. I enjoyed looking at all the shots. I especially liked that shot of PToombs on the country road. Having a cool truck is something we all want. What works is that "coolness" works on so many levels that we can all have the coolest truck at the same time. Really... who doesn't park out further in the lot at the hardware store, away from all the beaters and riffraff, and look back over their shoulder at their truck as they walk in? We all do it, because we all have very cool trucks. I just wanted to share mine here.

One other thing... I really appreciate all the kind comments and messages I received. I get nothing but good-natured grief from my woman over that truck, and with the help of you guys, she's finally admitted that maybe it's something with her, about "not gettin' it". She's definitely gotten over the idea that it's going anywhere in this lifetime.

Come on!, he won it because it is a cool truck and I only wish I owned it. As far as you needing a CTD to compete, in my opinion its OK. Sarg, I would leave it restored in its original form, it would be worth lots more left stock. You should have it appraised. When competing at car shows they are strict about after market parts and modifications when restoring them, points lost when they find them.

Let the conversion begin!

You've got a hundred $ head start, so make sure you post a thread with lots of pictures so we can all drool uncontrollably in our extreme envy!!!!!

that's the only reason I've left it stock up to this point. A week or two ago, I rebuilt the generator because no one wanted to touch it because "it was old". Right now I'm getting a dump put on it with a little heavier duty bed. Same size and everything, with the OEM fenders incorporated into the bed like the picture, and then I'll finish off the bed with a nice hardwood & new s/s bed strips.

As far as the older trucks are concerned, I'm of the opinion they should be used. There may be a place for shows & trophies, but I like using things as they're intended. I know keeping it stock maintains it's value, but honestly, these trucks maintain their value anyways, so long as what you do is high quality. Here's a link to a truck exactly like mine, 'cept he put the cummins in it already. It seems to holding it's value ok.

FFPW w/ a cummins 4BTA

when I'm done, the only difference will be the 3. 5t dump unit I'll have on mine. How cool is that?

So with that Mr. Grizzly , Let Robyn reply lease !!!!/QUOTE]

If Robin were to reverse her discission, not that she will, and make the award to you or anyone else, I would be highly disappointed. Robin made the rules of the game and Sarj complied by those rules and does have, in my opinion, the coolest truck, so he deserves the prize.

Robin doesn't have to do these games that we all like to play, but she does it out of the kindness of her heart to give something back to us. So who are we to tell her how to set the rules. It's her website and her money and she can do with it what she wants.

So lets stop all the belly aching and whining and go on to the next game. If we cry and whine long enough, she may just pull the plug on these games and can all eat humble pie.

dsherman, let it go, better luck next time.

I think everyone can agree with that ^, and I also don't think TDR staff has anything to explain to anyone. These contests sponsored generously and are meant to be fun!

Congrats Sarj! It's a beauty and cool indeed.

Personally, I fell hard for croberson1's sons truck Post 58, retro cool rules. Thanks for posting your trucks everyone, I sure enjoy seeing them.

Yeah! Sarj has a really cool truck (Mine is cool too) but in the spirit of this and all contest if you are going to get bent out of shape just don't enter. With that said eveyone have a happy 4th!!!
