Who has the Steel Horse overhead shelf?

I'm looking to spend some more of the wife's money on my truck. I was looking at the overhead shelfs and consoles for that quasi-jet fighter look and to move some clutter around. Who has one and are they strong enough to mount guages and radios on?

just an opinion here..... After totaling one of these rigs, I would never have one of these shelfs. . just another place to have missiles and small stuff to HURT you when ya come to a stop quick. .

I have one on my Ford... Love it couldn't live without it... yes they are strong enough for gauges/radios etc... but like willyslover said it is a place for flying and falling debris... if your mounting stuff this is not a problem... . for the rest of the stuff I bought a bunch of 6" bungi-cords so everything could be held down... . if your 6' tall you will loose the visors they just sit too low... also get the bigger shelf, the one with the console is a couple inches wider than the one without. . just throw the console away..... do you have the factory overhead console??? Pace Edwards has a thing called the Visor-It shelf or something like that... it comes in 2 pieces and mounts on either side of the factory console... have not seen one in person but the pictures look nice but it is about twice the price of the Steelhorse one piece... I do miss my shelf the dodge is getting something overhead soon... ... ... ...

J. C. Whitney.com(they're in LaSalle, Illinios) carries Steelhorse products and a WHOLE LOT more. I have one in my Ford. I have a C. B. radio hanging from underneath in the center and works great. Mine has the center console on it.
