Hi, I purchased a set of your wheel to wheel boss bars for my 04 Ram 2500 quad cab long bed.

I bought them through truckextras.com

When I got the box, there were no instructions in the box.

We figured out how to mount them, but I’ve noticed some bar movement on the drivers side, but I’m 275 lbs so I don’t know if that is normal. Each time I step on it, it moves a little and makes a creak.

Then on the way to work this morning, I was thinking about it and how it attached to the truck with those bolts attached to plates and the plates have a long side and a short side so you can slide them into the body hole.

Do they have to go into the hole in a certain direction due to load on the bars, just curious.

Anyone know? Other than that, I'm going to crawl under and double check that everything is tight.

I installed the same ones on my dually a couple of weeks ago. Also had the wrong instructions, but once I figured out which brackets went where, it went smoothly. Mine seem to be rock solid as they are. I just made sure the anchors were in the right holes and tightened up as much as I could. Mine don't give at all and I weigh 225.

I installed mine a few months ago, with the less than detailed instrucions. I found that I really had to tighten all the bolts, especially the bracket to body bolts. I'm just over the mountain from you in Port Murray, so if you want to bring the truck over and I'll have a look at it.

I'm got the instructions via email from Putco and everything is on right, I'll just get under and retighten everything. I actually didn't get to tighten them myself. I had a couple buddies in the garage with me when I did it, maybe they didn't tighten them enough.

Thanks,
