Comp and VP failure?

SBC Con OFE a mistake

I am getting ready to change my rear end oil, would like to know if amsoil is the way to go.

pros and cons

I'm using it. I can't tell you if it's any better or worse than any other oil in the differentials. I know it made a world of difference in the transmission of my '01 (NV4500); it used to get hung up in reverse occassionally until I switched out the factory lube to Amsoil.

I am using it, the series 2000, it was only a $1 more per quart then the Mobil 1 so I figured I would give it a try, so far so good.

I have used it in all my CTD trucks, from the 91 to the 94 as well as the 2003. I am a dealer and buy it wholesale, but then most anybody can do that. Even if I were not a dealer I would still use it, as in my opinion it is very high quality.

I just has a case of the series 2000 75w90 delivered to my door the other day. Once I get about 3,000 miles on the truck I am going to change the rear diff to Amsoil and add a Mag Hytec cover.

I've been useing Amsoil in all my rigs including my Harley for years. Have a friend that deals it and keeps a good inventory. I haven't got around to doing the bye pass filters on the ctd yet but plan on it next filter change. My twin cam 88 road king runs alot cooler in stop and go traffic & the trany shifts smoother. :)

Amsoil

I have amsoil in everythang now, Im running the 75-140 in the diff. and the auto has the trans fluid, now the engine. like it real well i was getting some chatter out of the diff before i changed it.

I'm using Amsoil Series 2000 75W-140. Works great. 75W-90 in the front. 15W40 in the motor, and ATF in the xfer case. NV5600 has the MS-9224 stuff in it.

As far as I can tell, all fluids meet factory specs.

I have Amsoil in everything except the engine. 75w90 in the diffs and transfer case, and 5w30 in the ol getrag. So far I'm happy with it, I'm not swearing to it, but I may have picked up a little mileage, hard to tell.

I have run Amsoil since 1993 and the only area I am not using it is my NV4500HD. New Venture calls for a synthetic GL4 in that transmission. They recomend Castrol Syn-torque which in a blended synthetic. The only full synthetic GL4 I know of is made by Pennzoil. By now there may be others that make it but my oil analysis are coming back with excellant numbers so I will stay with it.

Amsoil in the crankcase, valvoline "fully" synthetic in the diff, OEM crap (2nd fill) in the 5600.

Bypass filter on the floor patiently waiting to be installed while I deal with the 12v.

Amsoil in everything since it was broke in.

Seven years later I have this to say. I have had the head off the engine, upgraded the transmission, and put two lockers in it. Every mechanic who saw the inside of any of this stuff said about the same thing. They all said"It looks like brand new". And this was after at least 100K miles on everything.

Works for me. :D

Changed both difs to 75-140 at 15,000 miles. Seems to work fine. I wish I could have afforded a Mag Hytech at the time. I'll probably change the rear at 45,000 and add the Mag Hytech. The front probably won't get changed again for at least 60,000 miles.

Have the series 3000 5w-30 with dual remote filter system, just getting ready to send off my first oil analysis. Have been using it for about 7 years in everything we own & so far so good. Hey amsoilman if you read this , what is the best thing to use in both diffs. & the trans. , any help would be greatly appreciated. I have about 20 customers that also buy their amsoil products at my business & they like it . :)

I'm happy using Amsoil 75W-90 in the diffs, 5W-30 (ASL) in the transmission, Universal ATF in the Xfer case, and 15W-40 Diesel Marine in the engine. Haven't done power steering yet.

I use it (amsoil) in all my trucks, cars, motorcycles, tractors, heavy equipment and am very happy with the results. Oh I am not a dealer but we are a commercial buyer. :D

I had Amsoil in my CDT and ran it for 10,000 mi and changed it out. Went back to Delo 400, now on a cold morning on start up the truck takes a while to get the rpms up. With the Amsoil in the winter on start up it got up to rpms right now. I will be going back to Amsoil. The diff is waiting on a fluid change.
