6 shooter holster question

Here I sit several hundred miles above the Arctic circle drilling an oil well on Christmas. Anyone else working today?

Jr, I am at home with family today, but know the feeling of being several hundred miles from anything on Christmas.

Merry Christmas; and keep warm.

Chris

Well Im not working technically today but I have been working on putting a new ring and pinion in the Dodge today as well as installing a painless wiring kit, Larry B's contacts, and an ignition switch. Too bad Im not getting paid to do this! Now it looks like I get to clean the axle grease off my keyboard too. LOL

I'm halfway through a 3 week straight run of 3-11 shift today. People dont stop poopin just cause its Christmas. LOL (treatment plant operator)

Merry Christmas Everyone

John

Babette worked a 13 hour shift at the hospital yesterday, and I spent some time behind the snowblower.

I hope that makes you feel a little better!!!!!

Bob

JR, I just got a day off after working Christmas, 5AM-5PM with a new guy who is without a doubt the most unpopular jerk in the plant. Had to listen to him whine about how he missed being with his kids, among other things. Nobody told him to take the job, he knew in advance we were working Christmas.

My Christmas present was punching out at 5PM ant NOT seeing him for the next 4 days!! I think God hates me!! :-laf I KNOW he's trying my patience having me work with him. I figure when my time comes, I'll meet St. Peter at the Pearly Gates, and God will step in and say "Let him in. He worked with Chris & deserves to be here after that!" :-laf

holiday season is overtime season for me... i now have the wonderful railroad rest days of weds/thurs, so in the last 5 days i worked 78 hours [14 on friday, 16 on sat to tues]

and i get to look forward to almost the same next week too [16 sun/mon/tues]

oh well, the money is pretty good, and i need to get some saved up, as things now look as we are going to go on strike in 3 weeks when the contract is up :(

Why do you think you're doin all the overtime? So their stuff is all ready to go when your on strike! The world just ain't right! :-laf

you don't really know how the RR works eh?? they had me lined up for several different units on last nights shift. . one that they wanted to release of an 364 day inspection i canned for exhaust leaks and some other problems. started to tear into the exhaust and got pulled off to go do a 92 day inspection. didn't get that done either [my shift ended before i could finish all the running checks on it] being there for 16 hours a day doesn't really mean productivity [quantity over quality there]

as for the the strike, the tires for burning are already being stockpiled. . and the rumors for what will get sabatoged around the shop and on the equipment is already flying around [nothing that effects safety, just stuff that keeps them from moving]

Just got back from working in Washington. When power is out, it doesn't matter what day of the year it is. We worked 246 hours in the last 13 days. It's good to be home.

TRAMPLINEMAN thanks for comming to WA. to help restore power. Hope you got more than compinsated for it. Alot of people did without power for more than a week due to all the wind and heavy rain storms and massive damage. See you next year:D

You're welcome. We were more than compensated. Generous residents brought us coffee, hot chocolate, cookies, pop, water, sandwiches etc. .

One family even invited us in to share their Christmas dinner. Had a great time and met a lot of great people. Only had one rude customer, she learned the hard way why NOT to be mean to the power guys. She spent a couple extra days without power after her neighbors got turned back on. :D

I haven't been in the trade as long as you, but my days of coming down a 45'er in 6 steps are over. It's fun to show off, but my knees are already yellin' at me. :D

I was off for Christmas but I'll be working New Years, in fact I'm working now. I'm on the other end of the energy system from you guys though, I'll be making the juice to put on the lines.
