Who has the most miles on their truck

Made it back to Maine last night. Drove up to the dealership gate at 7. 15pm after putting on 750 miles for the day, parked the truck, got the car out and drove another 63 miles to home. I am dragging this morning... ... :{

Have some figures regarding fuel mileage, trip distance, etc. that I will post tonite for those that might be curious. I think the fuel cost alone was in the vicinity of $1100. 00. :eek:

Mike.

Truck's computer showed 8. 08mpg, My largest purchase was in New Mexcio and working on memory only (paperwork all at home on my desk) I think it was $3. 14 per gallon. Got an additional $250. 00 worth in Indiana at $3. 09 per gallon once I provided our DOT number. Then purchased an additional $100. 00 worth in Connecticut and that was $3. 42 a gallon.

Didn't care at that point, just wanted enough fuel to get in the yard plus they have a Dunkin' Donuts there and I needed a fix bad!! Bought a 24oz coffee, paid for the fuel and boogied. :-laf

Turned off of I-95 in Bangor and low fuel light came on. Figured it pretty close.

Plus I don't think the fuel is equalizing between the two tanks. Right hand tank stayed full for quite a while and the Left tank (where the guage sending unit is) dropped faster. Pulled the vent tube for the right hand tank out and blew through it, all clear. Stuffed it back down behind the tank and headed for home. Talking to my son about it this morning and we have decided that the LH vent is plugged and creating pressure which is driving the fuel to the RH side. When you are going full tilt it is not returning much fuel as it is burning most of it. When you slow down, are running around looking for a motel room or idling it for a bit it is returning almost all the fuel back to the tanks. Should of thought of it then but way too much going on in the first few days of the trip home to ponder much of anything... ..... :-laf
