My transmission Has 178k On It And She Shifts On The Hard Side

So Whats The Word

This One Has Had A Long Life

And When You Change The Fluid

Filter It's Not Long Until

It Smell Bernt

I just rebuilt my own(at 125K) with converter and valve body from Dunrite. Used friction parts and gaskets from a local trans supply shop. I am very happy with it, and no slipping with my EDGE Juice with Attitude, exhaust, intake, and few other minor mods. If you have the know how or a trans shop you trust to use parts you supply, I recommend this option. MUCH cheaper than Sun Coast or ATS units.

To answer your question on the hard shifting i need to know a few things. Does it have a shift kit? Is it the original transmission? And most importantly, what gears are giving you the hard shift. 178k is high milage for a transmission and usually hardened seals, bad fluid, or even sticking valves in the VB could be the cause. "As for the word" to quote you, any properly built transmission will give you a long life so long as two things happen. The first being maintainance... very important. The second being that no internal failure occurs.

Horsepower also plays a role in transmission longevity so your power adders are am important factor in determining you needs. Give me a call if I can help you with anything else 786-543-9176. I am in Miami so i am near by.
