The Hawk is the way to go, I have used them on my truck and they are available in three compounds depending on your use and what rotors you have. The best plan is to get Powerslot rotors and Hawk HPS or Super Duty compound for most folks. We get customer comments all the time about the better braking capability and no fade when they upgarde etc.

If you want something a little cheaper but still really good brake pads i run Bendix pads that i get from Advance Auto. I got 50,000 out of my last set and that was running 39 inch tires.

I recently installed the Powerslot rotors and Hawk HPS pads from DPPI on my 97. I must say there was a night and day difference over stock. I also added the 30mm wheel cylinders and I can actually stop the truck now with ease.

I would like to have that setup on my 99 2500 4x4 it sounds good

I am not 100% sure, I would have to check my receipts. I did pretty much everything due to some issues I was having. New rotors, calipers, pads, shoes, brake hose and wheel cylinders (had previously installed these).

Brakes

The best set of disc brake pads that I have used is Raybestos. Super Stop is the name of the pads. My trucks stops much faster and no brake dust filling up the wheels. Sam

Dodge changed the brakes in 2000 to a dual caliper setup. Not sure what the 3rd generations are running.

EBC SUV Supreme, the Ultimate "Green Stuff" that EBC sells for our trucks. The only drawback is they are a little stiff when cold. They stop better and grip better when they are warm and get even better when they are hot. 4K miles and not a problem at all!! I run on a vol. Fire Dept and run about 10 miles to the station and they are great. No Dust on the wheels at all

Sam Peterson used to be the "brake guru" of the tdr way back when. Sam sold the hawkhead pads and they work great.
