I'll vote for the Pac PXRB also.

I have mine mounted in the stock location at it has been fine there. I have the shifter mounted switch also. In addition, the Pac is ECM controlled so I can use the brake with my cruise control on. I believe (no first hand experience) the Jake is alos, but some others are not using the engine controlled circuitry and cannot be used with the cruise on.

The Jake is ECM controlled as well for a few things. One, when you start the truck or drive it and have the system armed (in auto mode) even if you aren't moving it activate the brake to help the engine warm up quicker. Also, so that it knows when you are on the thrittle without mounting switches and crap by your feet. And thirdly, yes, the cruise and the brake work wonderfully together. Get to the top of the hill, pick a gear, set the cruise and it will turn the brake on and off to keep you at your desired speed. Just remember with the Jake and most other brakes (except the PBXR) you gotta have rpms to make em work best. A 23K truck and trailer on a 6% grade is not going be held back by the jake in 6th gear. As you drive it you learn your sweet spots and don't even think about it. It's a nice system, I need to fix mine or replace it. One of the 2. I miss mine! :{

I read this post last week and yesterday the Jacobs

Vacuum pump went up. Dodge wanted $900. 00 for a replacement pump but Cummins came through with $250. 00. Almost had a Banks Exhaust Break system on the 03.
