where to get insulator for truck cab

Does Mercedes Benz still make a Diesel?

When and how much of Cummins did Ford own in the 90s? I know it was for their ag and industrial applications- had nothing to do with pickups. Seeing the PT pump on my boss's Ford Versatile tractor made me think of it. Also saw it (PT pump) on a friend's Case IH 9370.

It is nice to work at a place that is Cummins powered- 4 tractors, 1 combine, and all 4 trucks, plus my pickup have the Cummins hum and turbo whine :D  :D

Found this on- http://www.dodgeram.org/tech/dsl/FAQ/diesel_faq.htm#faq_links

Back in the early 90's, Ford bought less than 15% of outstanding Cummins stock. Many companies buy into other products to add diversity, corner a market, or form an alliance. In 1997, Cummins repurchased all stock previously owned by Ford, and no Ford management is now on the Cummins board of directors. Since 1998 in the pickup market, Cummins B engines are exclusively contracted to Chrysler, an arrangement that both companies are eager to continue. Ford medium duty (class 6 and 7) and heavy duty (class 8) trucks are available with Cummins B engines. Hey, if it's good enough for a Ford 10 ton truck, I think the Cummins B is adequate for my Ram pickup! You can keep your Power Stroke. :)

Ford and Cummins

In 1997 (shortly before I bought my Ram) the "Ford is gonna buy Cummins" story was really hot. So I wrote the folks at Cummins and asked them about it ... I received a (prompt) reply from a PR guy at Cummins and it went something like this: Ford purchased approximately 10% several years prior to 1997 (and had taken a seat on the board of directors. They retained that percentage until late 96 or early 97 when they offered one half their Cummins stock up to employee purchase. I assume the employees with that option were Cummins folks. At the same time Ford gave up its seat on the board... The PR guy hastened to say that Ford was a major customer at Cummins. I did a little checking and found out that the F650's and F750's standard engine offering in 1997 and into 1998 the B5. 9 Cummins. I haven’t looked recently but the last time I did the F650 and some F750 were still powered by a 5. 9 L Cummins--- Yep one very similar to the one in your Ram... Don't take my word for any of this ask Cummins how much stock Ford owns in their company. Then take a look at the Ford heavy duty truck web site... These sorts of things are not secret back room goings on.

I own Cummins!!

Actually I have only a small portion of Cummins. I have 2 shares, and have sold my other 2 shares to friends. See profile. :D
