Cold Blooded Ford 6.9

Well, I would not worry because I heard Daimler Chrysler now owns Navistar, International, and soon will acquire FoMoCo.

All kidding aside, Cummins owns Cummins and always has. At one point Ford held 10% of Cummins stock but that is no longer the case.

The stock holders own Cummins, Ford is no longer one of them.

If you want to know who the major stockholders are click this- http://finance.yahoo.com/q/mh?s=CUM

89% is held by institutional & mutual fund owners

Some Ford dealers teach their salesmen to say Ford owns Cummins but use the Powerstroke engine instead because it's better thus perpetuating the myth.

I wonder if the TDR webmaster could program the discussion forums so that a sentence containing the words "Ford", "owns", and " Cummins"could not be posted?

Or build in a pop-up ad into this site that says FORD DOES NOT OWN CUMMINS and appears every time you come to the site.

sticky sticky sticky

Maybe just make it "sticky" in the new owner section?

Bone Stock. I save all my money for booze.

It is a salesperson tactic to turn around a conversation stopper. The ideal you are selling is that ford owns cummins and that if the cummins was superior ford would install it in their trucks. They dont mention that the cummins is one of the preferred engines in the f650s and 750s. But hey they didnt ask.

So the way to turn this conversation around would be to confirm with the salesman that the reason he knows that the PowerStroke is a better engine is because Ford own Cummins, but chooses to use the PS because it's better. Get him to confirm this several times, and then show him that Ford does not own Cummins. Does that mean that the PS is not really the better engine then? It sounds to me like their theory is that Ford can't build engines.
