wow - what a great story

Freedom Arms Custom

I have and adore my model 83. I custom ordered it from Freedom Arms. It has a 10 inch barrel, hardened replaceable forcing cone bushing(an option no longer available), factory trigger job-3lbs, action job, adjustable sights, and of course it is a Premier grade-lifetime unlimited warranty. Mine is unported and has no muzzle brake either. I challenge any Smith owner to remove the brake on their . 460 or . 500 and try to keep up with me in velocity or accuracy. I have had maximum safe pressure loads developed by Buffalo Bore. They are disturbing. I have pushed 300 grain loads out the muzzle at over 2100fps, 260@over 2400, and 200 grainers I turned on my lathe with driving bands at a velocity unheard of. The cost of this is SEVERE recoil. Through lots of practice I feel any big-bore handgunner can accomplish what I have done. I have loaded up some of the original loads developed by Richard J Casull, including duplex and triplex loading: bullseye, H110, & Blue Dot. I strongly recommend these loads never be tried by anyone except an experienced reloader and ONLY in a Freedom Arms gun. I know other revolvers out there are made of the same material and heatreated similarly, but they have longer frames and are not as rigid.

I also have a custom serial number.

I like my contenders. The 30-30 is a real tack driver, but for fun the super 14 in 45-70 can't be beat. Everyone who has shot it always says the same thing---------- S. O. B. :-laf:-laf

Rattler, I've always wanted a 45-70 Contender. My 35 Remington Contender has taken a 6x6 bull and many many whitetail bucks, still, I lust for a 45-70, but my 70's vintage frame ain't up to the stress (shortgun frame lol).

I just picked up a . 460 Smith and Wesson Performance Center 3. 5" Barrel :D yesterday. Only put 100 rounds of . 45colt through it so far, but I'm loving it!
