Doesn't make you proud to own a diesel..

Price comparrison

The most common usage of the automotive versions are in delivery vans. they are available used with Turbo 400's or 4-speed manuals. The engines are used all over the world in agricultural and marine applications. Come in hp ratings of around 60 to 150.

The few 4BT's I've come across shock and rattled me to death. Their pretty popular as irrigation engines and I think Case uses them for something. We useto get a bunch of rebuilt ones in and resale them from Case for repowers or irrigation units.

Case has used them in backhoes and skidloaders as two examples. We have one at work in the 1840 skidsteer. Really like that engine. This one runs pretty smooth, as long as the idle isn't set to low.

The worst shaking engine I've come across was in a 1835C. 3cyl. Continental diesel. This thing rattles your brains and absolutely gutless. EVERY time I change the oil, I either have replace a motor mount bolt (because it fell out) or tighten them up.
