I talked to Kwikkurt and he has one in the making, my work schedule doesnt give me time to call Piers. Does Piers make one? Who else? I already have a KSB1B just need the plumming and B2.

Piers has 3 different twin set ups. Kind of Small, Med & Large. None use the KSB-1B as the initial Turbo because it can't be wastegated.

I have been lightly thinking about this also. If your like me you were told could always go to twins later and only need to add 1 turbo! As far as I know - it can only be done with an external (manifold mounted) wastegate - which is, I think, very noisy. For whatever reason, no one seems to be doing twins with the KSB-1B.

Have asked Kurt to respond. Anyone else?

There are no real off the shelf kits out there. The manifold mounted waste-gate works very well and is really not noisy at all. All gases can be directed right down into the bottom turbo to aid in spooling. Fred

I remember you having personal expirience with a KSB-1B, and speaking about them in the past. Ever try one on a twin set up?

I'm looking to eliminate EGT concerns all together without loosing quick spoolup. Very happy in the 400-450 hp range. Suggestions?

Any wes sites or Co. names for the manifold mounted wastegates?

I had people ask me why I didn't use the B-1 in my last Twin setup, well it's really easy to answer, The PDR 40 Twin combo has more than proven it's self (fastest street truck in the country runs this setup).

Second the B-1/B-2 combo has yet to prove it's self in the HP, Dyno or Drag race game, not saying that it can't it just hasn't.

When I looked at my total cost of the two setup's for parts the B-1 on top along with an external wastegate and building a spacer was going to cost another $800. 00 that I didn't have.

These things all combined is were I made my decision and I would do it all over again the same way.

:( I was hoping/would have thought since Piers is selling the B1 line up now and he is one of the "twin kings" that he would have a kit ready to go. I bet he could fab me one but it would cost an arm and a leg.

the reverse rotation will make it interesting on the fab work... . chris

You should try to fit the Big Brother in there, talk about tight!

I do think you will see the PDR bunch doing the B Twins as there seems to be a market for it, but they can barely keep up with the current orders of the 40/3B's... ... . I like it when people question whether they work or not. It would be nice to have someone who has run both little turbo's to honestly judge the two together... ... wait that's already been done!

I have used both the Full Size B1 and the KSB1 in my set-up. The KS version is much more suited to daily driving, with virtually no lag. I am using edm injectors also which improved low end spool. With a small to medium EDM, egt's should be of no concern. The wastegate is all custom fab work. You have to drill a large hole in your exhaust manifold then weld the gates pedestal into it, or fab a base of some kind. You could use any gate you choose, I use Tial.
